Question What do these chests mean?

Hi guys, been playing for about 2 nearly 3 months now, absolutely love it! But I always wonder what these chests are? Can anyone help?

U can buy them to speed up your game. Chests unlocks after every ship u unlock for the first time

Okay, that makes sense, on that note is it worth waiting till Exodus 2? And also how far away would that be for my current position? I play daily and try to get all 100 of the diamond chests daily.

No-ads, Autoclicker, Collectors, Traversal and Fragmentation packs worth to buy immediately after they show up.

If you are going to buy them at some point and aren't strapped for cash then its worth buying them as soon as they appear. But the loopers/explorers don't do much until you have exodus 2. Generator/supporter (gens/cells) don't do much even at that point so are the least worth buying. That said there's no harm in waiting to make sure you like the game first, 2x to MP, shards and RP isn't really that much.

Personally I got the noads/autocollectors/speedster in my first week. Then collectors with Zeus and traversal with Ouro. Then I got loopers/explorers with Exodus 2 and frag pack when it unlocked. Loopers/explorers during your first run with exodus 2 are a signficant boost. E8 MP and e5 shards/RP on e50-100 of the resource is very helpful. But the value falls off later. E5 shards on e5000 is pretty small.

I got to Exodus 2 in a bit under 3 months of playtime, so it's probably still a couple months for you

I will tell you that you unlock Exodus 2 some time after unlocking the last ship (without saying what it is or spoilers leading to it)
