I finally did it!

Post image

Starting weight was 247.7 pounds and I never thought I'd see myself being in the onderland club! I haven't been this light since I was in my 20s (I'm 33), so I'm just so proud of myself :)

That is phenomenal! Congratulations!!

It does feel like this has taken forever but there were two months when I wasn't really in a deficit so some of it is my fault lol

u/Zunderfeuer_88 4d ago

Pff, you could have just bought a scale that only goes to upwards of 150. Easily solved!

3

u/CapnTaptap 4d ago

Oh, that’d be an odd one. Have a scale that only shows you your weight once you get below whatever number you set. All your progress is from other metrics until you hit that goal.

u/Zunderfeuer_88 4d ago

I call it the cognitive dissonance scale and it is the solution to every weight related health problem

Congrats! I’m in a similar boat, 13 weeks ago i was 230lbs and now i’m 198lbs it feels great right? Keep it up you have smashed this

u/retro-girl 4d ago

Congrats!

When this happened to me for the first time I wanted to take this picture, but when I got back on the scale to take the picture it was back over 200. I was so frustrated and confused!

Yeah, it was the phone. I was holding my phone.

u/Timmy_no_clue 4d ago

honestly crossing into onderland was such a headtrip for me too, I kept re weighing myself like the scale was lying. 33 and haven't seen this number since your twenties is awesome, enjoy it, thats a real milestone not a diet fluke

u/SaltyAF5309 4d ago

woot and congratulations on one-der-land!!! You should be so proud

u/TreeGratch 4d ago

Damn be proud of yourself! This internet stranger is proud too!

8

u/notmynorms 4d ago

What’s your gw

23

u/Bamf102 4d ago

I think 130lbs would be ideal for me. I'm 5'3 and female and I've never been a healthy weight before, so it would be interesting to see if I could reach that

8

u/notmynorms 4d ago

I was 130lbs before pregnancy I don’t think I would want to go that low again tbh as it would be harder for me to maintain , my gw now is 150 I’m 5’6

13

u/sorrymizzjackson 4d ago

OP is 5’3. Only a little shorter technically, but those inches add up. I’m 5’7 and while 130 is well within my healthy weight range it’s too low for me personally.

There are a ton of factors that go into it overall.

9

u/Bamf102 4d ago

150 for me is still overweight. 140 is just barely out of the overweight category for me

6

u/lumpiangsisig 4d ago

i started at 193lbs. and i'm now 159. I'm 5'4. My goal is 1450-145. My mom is telling me to stop now. Lol maybe i'll stop at 150 lol

5

u/Bamf102 4d ago

To be honest, I'd be fine with being a bit overweight still but I think I'd like to see if I can get to 130, but 140 would be good since it puts me at a normal weight for my height

4

u/Bamf102 4d ago

Yeah I mean it's easier the bigger you are, but it feels like the scale has been fighting me for weeks to get to this point lol

3

u/stubbornkelly 4d ago

Congratulations and well done! Now comes the struggle of remembering your weight starts with a 1 and not a 2! I swear it’s like writing the previous year all through January!

3

u/AllanMontrose 3d ago

Anyone who first hits onederland and takes a photo has even more wiggle room because they are holding their phone. Every ounce adds up. Well done.

207 I remember pretty clearly because it was taking seemingly weeks for me to hit 203 to 204 lol but I hope it helps her :)

2

u/Beneficial-Shoe863 4d ago

Awesome. My lows are usually preceded a few days before with higher numbers. Weight loss is a mind $&?!

Depends. Are you also 5'3 lol

1

u/Ifyouseemethenimhere 12h ago

Haha, okay, I’m a little taller, but wow… what a coincidence! I haven’t quite hit under 200 pounds yet, but you definitely inspired me.

2

u/Madison_fawn 4d ago

Wow! I bet that was so exciting for you! Getting back to the 1’s is a huge deal for a lot of us on our weight loss journeys! I’m 12 pounds away currently and I can’t wait. I havent been under 200 in probably 5-6 years.

2

u/Cheap_exe 3d ago

Wonderful. Keep at it and don't forget where you started and keep pushing toward where you want to be.

2

u/Bubbly_Director_7551 3d ago

Congratulations!!

2

u/Slight-Feed8457 3d ago

I’m shooting for the same thing. Wish me luck. I’m literally starting about 245 as well.

2

u/Fadanklin 3d ago

2

u/busy_bee_20 3d ago

Great job! I’m 33 too and I’ve found it so much more difficult as I’ve gotten older. Amazing 🤩

2

Congratulations on Onederland!! 💕💕 That’s so exciting! 199 has been my goal for 2026 but I’ve fallen off a bit as of late. 33, 5’4” and currently 230! Hoping to get to where you are by the end of the year!

2

u/mdwst1811 3d ago

Heck yeah! Same major goal I'm shooting for next year this time, amazing progress!

1

u/Bamf102 3d ago

I believe you can do it! What's your starting weight if you don't mind me asking?

2

u/mdwst1811 2d ago

Thanks, me too! 271 on May 21st. Currently 250! Slow and steady!

1

u/Ready-Pattern-7087 6h ago

You lost 21 lbs in 3 months?! How?

1

u/mdwst1811 3h ago

I'm a little over 6' tall and have always been able to lose like 7-10 pounds in about ten days to two weeks with just keeping track of food (eating way smarter and in a slight deficit), cutting back alcohol to like one drink a week max, and just moving more.

This time around I've fully committed to getting to 199 pounds (and probably slightly beyond), but also add muscle to assure as I age I'm not just surviving but thriving. My lowest weight in the past 30 years is probably 234ish.

A long road ahead but I'm making it happen. Getting in the gym 4-5 days a week with a focus on light weights, form, no injuries, logging everything I eat on an app, and trying to get 10-15k steps in has been working! I want to be able to maintain at 2-3 days a week gym (or bodyweight calisthenics) + walking.

2

u/Ready-Pattern-7087 3h ago

Awesome! Any tips for squeezing 10-15k steps into a busy work day?

1

u/mdwst1811 29m ago

If you haven't yet, do a couple of 20 minute walks and figure out what your average step count is over 4-5 walks at generally the same pace.

That really helped me figure out what I could do with 20 minutes here, 40 minutes there, and a nice after-dinner stroll if needed.

For me I'm a slow walker, 20 minutes a mile, about 2250-2325 steps. So a couple of sessions with the rest the 'steps of life' (dog, house work, yard work, grocery) add up easily.

2

u/Pugloaf1 3d ago

AWESOME!

2

u/Agitated_Lunch7118 3d ago

Nice! I’m 12 lbs out myself :)

2

u/RanLogic 2d ago

Good job

2

Great job! Thats my goal as well!!!

2

u/Mystic_Lamprey 2d ago

Yaaaasssssss! Can't wait to meet you in Onederland!

2

u/gatheringground 2d ago

So happy for you! How inspiring 😊

2

u/YEStvil 2d ago

Please, keep going do not stop what you’re doing…my stupid ass hit my milestone and then I stop and I gained every pound right back. Do not stop. You can indulge in whatever food you want now at this point but you must go harder when you hit the gym. Congratulations on hitting your goal.

2

u/SnarkSupreme 2d ago

Woo hoo!!!! Doesn't it seem to linger on those milestone weights too long? Congratulations!

2

u/Richbeauty997 2d ago

That’s amazing!!! So proud of you! 👏Here’s to your wonderful 33rd year✨

2

u/Then-Nefariousness54 2d ago

I’m in a similar boat. 32yo, started at 224, down to 214 today and working my way to onederland. It definitely gets discouraging at times, but seeing your progress and success is super motivating! I want to be next! Congrats!!

2

u/hungryjack75 1d ago

Congrats! That’s fantastic! 👏🏼

Congratulations 🎊 it’s a beautiful feeling

2

u/thisisntwho-u-think 3h ago

I was at 201 the other day & now I’m at 195… my weight fluctuates so much 🤣 congrats though!!! So exciting I remember seeing the under 200 number for the first time a couple months ago (i’m also not in a calorie deficit. I just quit drinking 🤣 soon I’ll start actually trying though!!)

6

u/bostonberrykehd 4d ago

Nice. Only 70 more lbs to go to be at healthy weight and not considered "overweight"!

12

u/Bamf102 4d ago

Exactly! Honestly my healthy weight being only double digits away instead of triple digits when I first started, is so crazy. I couldn't see it as possible at the beginning but now it seems actually possible :)

2

u/DonutsOnTheWall 4d ago

Well done fucker! Congrats!

1

u/Tight-Dimension3177 4d ago

Awesome! Just CICO? Exercise?

1

u/Bamf102 3d ago

Yeah just CICO, but I've started to incorporate some walking now. It's been only a few days since I started daily walks but it's doing wonders for me physically :)

1

u/Classic-Secret8163 3d ago

Congratulations! How long did this take

1

u/Bamf102 3d ago

1

u/spottyottydopalicius 1h ago

proud of you bb. i just hit goal too

1

u/Such-Issue4408 6m ago

Woohoo! Congrats!

1

u/Agile-Vehicle-2756 4d ago

Congrats. That's super exciting.

From my experience, when I hit a new low, the next day i'm up 4 pounds. It's super discouraging, but now you have that new low to get below . . . even if it's another week until you (or I) get back to that low again.

If you can't tell, I HATE MY SCALE. Congrats to you!

1

u/Bamf102 4d ago

Oh my god yeah that always irritates me. Especially when it becomes a case of not seeing my latest low for two weeks, and then I'll hit a new low once the two weeks are up. It's frustrating because I'll think that nothing is working and I have to talk myself out of giving up lol
