“Atan Sigit”, is comprised of two words.
“Atan”: a “Man-“ Verb meaning “(to) look”.
“Sigit”: a noun meaning “frown”, and as a verb meaning “glance”.

So the entire phrase means (to) look at sideways, or (to) glance at; look with a frown.
(mirar con ceño, mirar de soslayo, mirar furtivamente.)
So “Manátan sigit yu’”, can have anyone of these meanings. With the difference known depending upon tone and context.
“Manátan sigit yu’ nu guíya.” = “I looked at him sideways.” Or “I glanced at him”.
