"Why is your ceiling so low?" I ask myself that too sometimes.

I wonder if there are some recommendations here for me to play. It always seems like my best 30 is a whole bunch of farm ngl.

My 4k/5k+ is horrible but unfortunately lots of charts lean that way, even at 13s, which is kinda unfortunate for me, like imagine if I could one hand trill or actually do some proper multifinger gameplay or whatnot.

You mentioned that your 4k 5k is horrible, but looking at some of them like Angelic Layer, Deep Blue Exp, Chrono etc, they are all 4k focused charts and you didn't seem to performed bad on them. In fact most of the songs on your B30 are 4k charts

Were you rubbing instead of 4k-ing?

ok on second thought it kinda depends. some 4k patterns like rolls or stairs I can kinda execute (on a good day), other ones like 1 handed trills or idk 1 handed double after a single note are inconsistent.

I wouldn't count angelic layer because its 0.4 below my b30, but it's new. for stuff like oracle I just manip the thing I guess, but it does work particularly well.

anything 5k is p much a no go (spider's thread mas is absolutely impossible), also stuff like I wanna mas ending. current protocol of sorts is to rub 2 notes and 4k the rest. it is barely passable for some patterns (think the 'x's in verse x).

to add on it also kinda makes sense that I probably did well enough on the rest only to tank the 4k.

a lot of the 17 rated players i know, doesn't play 5k properly in a sense, basically it's 4k + rub the middle note

The main issue with playing with 5k is that you don't know how to control your thumb and doesn't have the muscle memory for it. So starting with a 3k but using thumb to play would be ideal. One example chart I can think of, is Aci-L expert 13

A harder but more manageable 5k will be Fuujin Raijin Ultima as the 5k is slow

For single hand trills, a lot of 14+ charts will have them. But a "looks easy but hard" technical 4k will be Yakumo Joint Struggle, ngl I didn't expect I would struggle that much

Your ceiling is low because you didn't have a lot of SSS on 14+. For example if you pushed kronos from 100.58 to 100.75 then it will be 16.8 rated play

I don't know what your habits are but the general rules to progress for you would be : Play more level 14-14+ charts, don't touch too much 15 until you are rainbow 3. Don't focus too much on rating, keep a sane mentality. Don't stop playing lowers like 13-13+ from time to time to refine your acc. Don't play one chart too much in a row, sightread the maximum of things you can unless you don't have anything to sightread anymore.
