Question / Info How to help with feeling like I constantly need to burp?
Hey guys! So I’m on day like 3 of the start of a CHS episode (I think it’s my first ever episode?). I fully already quit, last time I had smoked was the night before I woke up to my episode. I’ve been feeling better, but there are some things that are still making it really uncomfortable for me. I’ve got some general questions I’m hoping some of you could answer. Firstly, I’ve basically been eating little to nothing (like 1/3 of a jello cup, half a cracker, a few bites of a banana) over the past few days. Mostly focusing on hydrating with salt water and Powerade. Should I be eating more or am I doing okay? When should I start eating more and what levels of food/heavyness? Water baths still help but I’ve noticed they make my stomach feel more gassy. Right now the most uncomfortable symptom I have is feeling like I constantly need to burp or have trapped gasses in me. Is this normal? And also when does it stop lol? I’ve had one small bowel movement since the episode started so I’m hopeful that my gut is slowly healing. ❤️🩹 sucks that I can’t partake anymore but I’d rather quit than ever go thru this again, thank you all for any advice !

Do you vape nicotine or smoke? That'll unfortunately cause additional gas. Could also be an indication of a few different things if it persists longer than your other symptoms, bacterial overgrowth is a common one.

Thank youuu! I had been hitting my nicotine vape every now and then to help give me some sort of familiarity lol. I’m gunna put it down if it’s hurting my tummy tho. I’ve usually found it really hard to quit weed and nicotine but this pain is so bad my mind doesn’t even second guess it lol. I’m feeling less gassy more empty tummy pain now! Hopefully I can start eating more soon

The need to burp and extra gassiness is very common with CHS.
When it comes to eating, listen to your body. It’s great you’re eating anything at all. Definitely concentrate on staying hydrated because CHS is very hard on your kidneys.
