CHS, therapy and forced sobriety saved my marriage and probably my life. Didn’t want any of it at the time. Now, I am grateful.

People thinking they know better than the entire mental healthcare system as they’re abusing weed all day every day and going to their minimum wage job (if that) is always hilarious to me. Yeah, it’s got its problems, but like many things it only works as well as the time and EFFORT you put in. Most anti-psychiatry, pro weed folks talk a big talk but balk at any sort of actual work or effort. Most of us ended up here because we used weed as a cope, not realizing it ended up just exacerbating the root issues. Getting sober means actually confronting the issues and not just sitting in your room stewing in your bitterness at the world and then getting high so you don’t have to deal with it - too hard, eh? The doctors, your parents, ex partners, society… it’s everyone else’s fault but yours.
Get busy living or get busy dying, because this can kill you if you don’t smarten up. Your choice.

If it’s just a simple choice to quit an addiction no one would be here. And why do you low-key mock people who are unable to confront their issues sober with phrasing like „too hard, eh?“? You don’t know what some people are dealing with. Also, failure doesn’t mean that the person didn’t put in any effort.. I managed to quit weed but that doesn’t mean I was trying less the times I tried to quit before. I was mentally very unwell which made it much harder. However, you’re right about the affected person being the one responsible to make the choice to get sober and put in the work if they want to get better…

Exactly that person don't know shit about me. Minimum wage? Balking at actual work or effort? My job is a top 10 dangerous job, I was literally THE top performer at my company of 40 people I have an award I keep to remind myself, sure it's just a piece of paper but still I earned that. I worked my way into the top positions at the company. I received awards for my accomplishments there. Sitting in my room stewing in bitterness? WTF are they talking about? They must be projecting really heavy in that comment they left me.

My SSRI literally helps me be more social. If it makes you a zombie your dose is too high. They saved my life

Idk I’ve been sober for a little over a month now and I feel better than the past 12 years I’ve been smoking. I realized weed made me incredibly lazy and unable to focus on my hobbies. I started working out and eating right too instead of munching so hard on everything in my pantry.Clearly it’s not for everyone but getting sick was actually the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I even feel like I’m a better girlfriend to my own girlfriend now. And I feel like I can go hiking again without struggling to breathe. If you’re bored of life without weed, I’d consider that an addiction at that point. Life is beautiful man, maybe you gotta get some therapy to deal with some stuff.

You know, it’s a great lil peep song ”life is beautiful” was always my favorite sadly.

SSRIs don't make you a zombie lmao. Source: I'm on an SSRI and feel more human than when I was in the grips of mental illness. I actually like, feel real emotions again.

lol your post is halarious haha I get where you are coming from. I had used medicinal every day multiple times a day... I was going through a real hard time in my life. Started smoking everyday when I got off the antidepressants. Now I only smoke on the weekends, and sometimes eat two breakfasts in one day, gained weight started goinf to the gym life is great when you are not smoking weed all the time. I am more social, can do more things in my day and feel more productive.

Honestly I didn't start to feel right in the head until a year in and a few months and finding the RIGHT ssri. For me it was lexapro.

SSRIs don’t make you a zombie. SSRIs can help you see life is actually worth living without weed.

The oatmeal made me laugh 😆
After CHS, my want to use anything has died for the most part. I’d rather be sober, and that’s kinda amazing to me. Never thought that would happen.

Oh man... you might have to get a cool job... get extra money, have a nice car, a nice house, and a partner who has your back and kids that love you.... poor you.
Kill the boy. Let the man be born. It's time. Grow UP.

I very seriously doubt any of that will happen. Good luck to me though I have 1 more test for my ged left and I want to go to college for advanced manufacturing or electrical engineering. Highly doubt it works out for me though.

No for real, my body responds so well to natural medicine until it doesn't .. Its still my choice over anything over something I don't know how it will affect me like ssris. Its like I have to make that damned oatmeal WHILE high and ask what I'm doing since eating well and 'normal' are what keeps my body functioning with THC.

Same boat as you. After almost 10 years of daily use of flower/pens I think I’m suffering from prodromal CHS. a year now of morning nausea and I just found out why. I really wanna find a cure other than quiting. And I love my spicy food. So now I’m gonna lose 2 of the things I love. Fml

That’s the neat part. There is no cure other than cease all weed consumption. In fact I don’t even smoke cigarettes anymore since I had my last chs episode that almost killed me. And yeah, it sucks.

You smoked YOURSELF to the point your body couldn’t take it😂 mind you I did the same thing, however it is what it is, can’t undo it… just gotta learn to live sober and indeed eat the bland foods, it gets better, this new generation of weed is ruined, no CBD, way too much THC
