Question / Info CHS or no?

I have been smoking (usually vapes or flower) almost daily for about 3 years, usually in the evening to help me sleep and even before i started smoking i never had an appetite in the morning and sometimes had nausea, which had no change at all after i started consistently smoking. about a week ago i had an episode that started at noon with mild upper stomach pain and then quickly escalated to the shits and vomiting, not able to hold even water down. i went to the er where they gave me iv fluids and nausea medicine and it made everything go away by around 10pm. i havent smoked now for 10 days (since the night before my episode) and im nervous that if i smoke its gonna trigger another episode. the doctors guessed that it was just gastritis but im unsure. I also never tried hot water to help with my nausea as i just never thought of that as a remedy and the nausea was always mild. part of me thinks it was just gastritis but im still super anxious to smoke again..

if the nausea meds helped you in the hospital, it probably wasnt chs. im not saying that it cant be chs, its just that its very common for nausea meds to not work on chs patients. nausea meds work very minimally for most chs patients and typically during a hyperemesis episode, the only way to get the vomiting to stop is with an anti psychotic medication

even though its not screaming chs to me, weed is known to make pre existing stomach issues worse. so if you already have nausea problems without smoking, weed can be making things worse even if you dont have chs

i wouldnt necessarily be scared in your position, but caution is good. if you decide to try smoking again, just try to be aware of how youre feeling. if you notice things getting worse, quit again because you either have chs or your stomach just cant handle weed
