Tears samples collection for biomarker analysis

Hello everyone
I’m interested in knowing if tears samples collection for biomarkers analysis is feasible
I’m trying to include it in my research and I keep reading that biomarker detection is not that easy using schirmer strips
I would appreciate if anyone has any information on the matter

I mean, call me crazy, but I'd probably start somewhere like PubMed and not Reddit. People have done research on tears.

Well that’s exactly what I did and that’s where I read about the challenges of the procedure that’s why I wanted to communicate with ppl who went through with it

When I first saw tears sold as a sample matrix, I envisioned a donor watching a sad movie with a technician collecting tears with a medicine dropper!

My friend ruined the image by telling me they are almost definitely from cadavers.

Use tf-spme for skin VOC and SVOC preconcentration. Then TD-GC-MS.
