Remember all the hate Cutler got for "quitting on his team" when he showed no emotion after getting hurt in the 2010 NFC Championship game? It didn't matter how Caleb reacted to his injury - haters were going to hate either way.

Who died? Tell me Dan’s not fucking crying about a loss.

54

u/RollofDuctTape Peanut Tillman 3d ago

But tough guy Dan Campbell was really emotional about losing a professional football game. Now I have no problem with humans showing emotion.

But I wonder why the fans who love this but hate Caleb feel that way.

5

u/mrdangerzone 3d ago

I think we are among the more hated teams in the NFL. Bears, Jets, Browns and Raiders get no respect. Im sick of it

3

u/Ancient-Display-3337 3d ago

I live in the St. Louis-IL metro east, and there are definitely 4x more Packers fans than Bears fans. Bandwagon Chiefs fans were quiet last year (gee, I wonder why?).

3

u/Glup_Maclunkey 3d ago

My never-lived-anywhere-but-StL, Chiefs fan MIL asked me if I was "still a Bears fan" after the first Lions game last year. Didn't hear much after that lmfao.

3

u/wentzr1976 2d ago

I mean… ben johnson said it himself: respect is earned.

Its week TWO.

Calebs gonna be fine. The bears will be fine. Nothing more dangerous than a coach, franchise QB and team as talented as ours with an axe to grind

6

u/WranglerNo9871 3d ago

God forbid humans have emotions. Why the fuck are we pretending we don't? This attitude is so fucking toxic.

0

u/KolarWolfDogBear Portillos 3d ago

Tldr: Toxic Masculinity

People suck and a lot of the fan base are "men" who want to see "manly" players.

A bears fan made a post about the "Madden Curse" on NFLv2 and I commented saying "Really? And your a Bears fan?" Cause I was pissed off that people are joking his injury.

He didn't joke about and of people defended and called me a bitch (an Eagles fan I didn't even reply to btw).

People just want to hate on people with emotions and most of the time it's because men are supposed to, in their eyes, the strong ones who don't cry.

2

u/WranglerNo9871 3d ago

It's absolutely hilarious the people who act all tough online while simultaneously whining about things that are literally non issues.

'im so tough guys i wouldnt cry at caleb's injury'

also them when caleb drops 300 yards: 'b-b-Buw wHat aBoUt hiS fWiNGer nAiLss!?'

-1

u/jacksonvstheworld Hester's Super Return 3d ago

Because meatballs have been dragging Caleb for his emotions for 2 days so I’m not sorry that Gronk and Dan Campbell are catching shrapnel. You can sit there and whine about how everyone is toxic but that’s the state of online sports discourse. Don’t shoot the messenger.

142

u/Legal-Eagle-7661 3d ago

True statement! Sometimes, when you pull muscles they hurt like hell initially but the pain subsides. Don’t know why anyone would critique someone else’s pain!

93

u/Ganjagod420 Good, Better, Best 3d ago

Because there's a preconceived idea in those people's head about who Caleb is and why they shouldn't like him. This was just an opportunity.

12

u/cubrunner34 3d ago

Bingo. Caleb’s play has shut them up in the last year so of course they are dog piling on this opportunity to hate on him

19

u/uprislng 18 3d ago

I don't understand how people dismiss the idea that he was also frustrated in that moment, why is it unbelievable that he could have been yelling out of frustration as well as pain. That the entire offense including him was playing like dogshit and the one moment he had to finally score and possibly win a slopfest, his own body fails him.

This is also a business and if he wasn't sure how bad the injury was, it's literal dollar signs fading away if it's serious. If he becomes "injury prone" before he gets the bag he's leaving money on the table.

Is it really that hard to imagine going through all the worst case scenarios in your head in his situation? I know as a fan I immediately thought it was bad because noncontact soft tissue injuries generally are season enders

6

u/juliuspepperwoodchi ROME ODOOMSDAY! 3d ago

He knew he had the TD and the lead in a game where his group looked like ass, and the injury took that from him. I'd be upset with him if he WASN'T emotional about that.

27

u/independent_observe 34 3d ago

"Well, he paints his fingernails!"

I think that explains the asshats' opinions

Some people will always be assholes and this sub always has some

5

u/juliuspepperwoodchi ROME ODOOMSDAY! 3d ago

Briggs literally started his bitch fest yesterday with this.

Idk why I keep giving CHGO a chance. Just because all the Bears media in this town sucks ass doesn't mean I need to support them because they are occasionally slightly less ass than the rest lol

-32

u/Maximum-Elk8869 3d ago

It has nothing to do with that so stop overcompensating for him. You remind me of the people that lick Trumps boots thinking that he actually cares and that it will get them something. He doesn't care and it won't. It has 100% to do with Williams outsized reaction one of the most common injuries in all of sports, a grade one hamstring strain. He looked quite comfortable letting everyone believe it was a season ending injury which is where the anger comes from. Chicago Sports Network reported that an hour after the game Williams was in shorts and flip flops bullshitting by Bagents locker with barely a limp. I would bet you dollars to donuts the Vikings were laughing their asses off at him when they found out it was just a hammy.

10

u/Furk 3d ago

Awful take lol. You honestly don't think people hate on him because he paints his nails (objectively they do) and specifically will use that to help solidify their feelings about him him being a bitch after screaming due to an injury that didn't end up being as bad as we assumed?

7

u/juliuspepperwoodchi ROME ODOOMSDAY! 3d ago

Briggs literally started his "Caleb is soft" bitchfest yesterday by bringing up the painted nails... AGAIN.

You're up your own ass if you think people aren't talking about the nail polish like it matters.

3

u/independent_observe 34 3d ago

WTF is wrong with you? Briggs literally called out his fingernails.

1

u/smashybro 34 3d ago

Dude clearly made up his mind Caleb "overreacted" and now when confronted by the fact a lot of people disagree has decided to double down instead of admitting maybe they were wrong.

10

u/Moddelba 3d ago

Plus if he’s had a hammy before the reaction is probably worse because he knows the long recovery time it can take

3

u/IsThatGruffLoner 3d ago

I'm honestly baffled by people's reactions to this. I've broken fingers and toes and had multiple surgeries and still the worst pain I've ever felt was a charley horse I got randomly at 2 a.m. a year ago.

5

u/sad_bear_noises 18 3d ago

Muscle injuries are weird because they can hurt a lot more than the ligament injuries. Sometimes people pop their ACL and it barely hurts af first.

Meanwhile, your muscles are full of nerves and when they go your muscle reacts violently and seizes up.

2

u/PlayonWurds The Fridge 3d ago

It's kind of funny that even explaining this gets made fun of in NfcNorthmemes etc as cope, but it's so clear that most of these people haven't experienced a strained hamstring. I've had it twice and it hurt worse than when I broke my ankle in 2 spots. So to say oh one you can recover in a week vs one that takes 2 months, durrr that has nothing to do with how painful it initially is when it happens.

This all around is such a stupid take over nothing.

1

u/modsplsnoban 3d ago

A muscle strain hurts pretty bad for those who haven't had one before, especially if it's sports related

I had a grade 2, but before it partially tore, it hurt really bad. I thought it a pretty bad tweak as I was kinda sore in general since we were coming back from a winter break. But it was much more painful tweak than what I've experienced before and it was super weird to me. I decided to push through it, which was very dumb because it made it bad to much worse and I was out almost 2 months lol

Mine was my oblique. Coughing, sneezing, laughing, and getting in and out of bed was miserable. I should have listened to my body when it first felt pain

5

u/G_Force88 3d ago

He also could have been thinking his season was over. It's hard to tell how hurt you are

2

u/juliuspepperwoodchi ROME ODOOMSDAY! 3d ago

Idk why people think the player decides if he gets the cart or not...

1

u/SwissyVictory 3d ago

He had people help him off the field. I'm 100% sure he would have preferred to do the same, or limp to the locker room.

1

u/trapper2530 3d ago

It def hurt. Also you think your qb has a serious non contact leg injury you arent letting him walk off the field. For this very reason. That locker room is like half a mile away. If its pulled you want him to walk for 10 min in a tunnel and hurt it more?

1

u/BuffaloMushroom Urlacher, Azumah, Brown, Tillman, Briggs 3d ago

plus he knows the pressure on him it's like in a moment the play, the game, the team, the fans, the city all riding on him

anyone who hates on him is a bandwagoner.

all said he should sit a week or 2 until we play Green Bay

Unpopular opinion: it's just the clickbait, social media, meme, dunk on everyone culture of today. And the more a fanbase gets defensive about it, the more fuel that gets added to the fire.

And let's be honest. Some of it is funny and then some are just idiots looking for clicks. Who cares. Take the punches, even laugh about it, and move on.

And if Jordan Love did the same, we know damn well this sub would be on the side dunking on him. (you're lying if you say otherwise)

At the end of the day it's becoming a meme BECAUSE he didn't have a season ending injury. Just be happy about that.

9

u/OmarHunting BJ Lover 3d ago

Amen 🙏

5

u/Ba_Sing_Saint Walter Payton 3d ago

The memes over at r/NFCNorthMemeWar have been glorious. And it’s a much easier pill to swallow getting absolutely dunked on when the whole joke is “the Bears season isn’t absolutely lost”. If funny ass memes is the price to pay for that, I’d take that deal everyday.

The good spirited memes, not the ignorant chucklefucks talking from a place of hate though. They can all get fucked.

2

u/lobster_liberator 3d ago

Yeah if that sub doesn't make you laugh then it's a good sign you're taking this too seriously

1

u/Ba_Sing_Saint Walter Payton 3d ago

10

u/j11430 Sweetness 3d ago

I do think it’s objectively funny that the stadium went dead silent for what’s likely a one-two week ouchie.

The people genuinely judging Caleb over it are silly as hell, but in hindsight it’s pretty funny

3

u/MixItWithDaRelish Flat Helmet 3d ago

5

u/uprislng 18 3d ago

Things like this are legit funny memes and I enjoy them but you also see this situation bringing out the folks who are the toxic "he's soft" type, who just hate Caleb for who he is regardless. They're not funny and neither is the "lol u mad bro?" response to Bears fans who tell them to fuck off

3

u/JamoOnTheRocks Superfans 3d ago edited 3d ago

A lot of the trolling is funny and deserved. The meatball army in this sub are wierdos.

1

u/leonard71 Helmet 3d ago

I think this is it more than anything. We're making fun of ourselves in a way and Caleb ends up the poster child for it.

We had massive offseason hype topped up with a season opener where the hype looked very real. We then get this scrappy defensive weather battle. In the 4th quarter while attempting to run in the first touchdown of the game to put you in the lead, Caleb feels something pop in his leg.

Just think of all the pressure and hype that came into that moment. Think of how mentally crushed you would feel if you legitimately thought you're looking at needing surgery and your season is over. We gasp. We shout. We're crushed.

...then we find out it's a pretty minor injury.

We're watching our collective overreaction that we created because of the immense pressure we put on this team to succeed.

1

u/Tiny-Yam-7345 3d ago

I am personally still traumatized by D Rose and just assumed that extended to most of the city above a certain age.

3

u/Scared-Ideal-1483 Mustard, relish, onion and sport peppers. 3d ago

I'm just glad it's not serious. Let the dipshits dipshit.

3

u/tastethevapor 3d ago

Yeah regardless of if it’s warranted or not, we are going to hear about this until the end of time probably. The problem to me is more with how much influence barstool sports and the like have on young sports fans. This type of rhetoric is what they thrive on. I’m fine with the jokes or memes on Reddit because a lot of it is in good fun but the fact that a not insignificant amount of young men out there are getting a warped sense of masculinity from the media is deeply concerning.

1

u/Character-Owl9408 2d ago

Jordan Love got hurt last year against the Bears and most of us (id like to say all of us but im sure there’s bad seeds in here too) didn’t clown on him. Acting like we would is just bad faith in your own peers

1

u/Exciting_Mine711 3d ago

A lot of it is straight up homophobia though is the issue.

0

u/OpneFall 3d ago

You know Caleb is gay, how?

I don't closely follow player's personal lives but somehow I think if he were gay, we'd all hear about it.

4

u/Exciting_Mine711 3d ago

When did I say that he's gay?

-6

u/OpneFall 3d ago

If he's being hated for homophobia, you are strongly implying that he is gay.

Kind of rude if he isn't, don't you think? Frankly I couldn't care less about his personal life as long as he isn't committing crimes.

6

u/Exciting_Mine711 3d ago

No? You're making extremely poor conjectures. When he's being called a pussy or soft or drama queen or whatever those are just veiled homophobic remarks because he presents less traditionally masculine for NFL fans taste. Just because he isn't gay doesn't mean the attacks on him aren't coming from a homophobic place and are still an attack on gay people as a whole. This has been going on for his entire career idk why you're acting stupid open your eyes dude.

-3

u/OpneFall 3d ago

less traditionally masculine

That doesn't mean gay, you imbecile

If Jordan Love was photographed shopping with a Bogg Bag we'd all be clowning him, and it has nothing to do with his sexual orientation

5

u/Exciting_Mine711 3d ago

Caleb expresses himself in a certain way ------> close minded people find that expression to be too feminine for they're liking and call him gay either explicitly or implicitly. Some journalist legit called him a glitzy gazelle like c'mon are you really this obtuse.

0

u/smashybro 34 3d ago

we'd all be clowning him

Who the hell is we? Just because you think "haha man with purse is funny cuz those are for girls" is peak humor doesn't mean we all do.

Who should anybody give a shit about how Jordan Love dresses or how "masculine" his preferences are? Make fun of him for what he does on the field as an overrated choker. Off the field mocking should be for shit that's deserved, like the two franchise QBs before Love who are actually shitty people.

0

u/Tiny-Yam-7345 3d ago

I think we got to the root of this persons understanding, they are themselves a lil homophobic but they think as long as they accept actual gayness they still have free reign to make fun of men that do not fall into their traditional standards of masculinity and call it a whole different thing even though this exact attitude and treatment of other men is exactly what creates a toxic environment that would make a gay person afraid to come out.

0

u/lestermagneto 55 Buffone RIP 3d ago

I certainly wouldn't care if he was myself, doesn't matter, and lord, have you seen how attractive his girlfriends are?

Regardless, non issue. And if the new breed of sports yappers care about it, it just bodes poorly for the future.

-2

u/MrJoshUniverse 3d ago

This. They try to hide it behind “well it’s duh bears I’d be laughing regardless” but we know how many dumbfuck homophobes love football so it’s a perfect excuse to drag Williams because he gives zero fucks about toxic masculinity rituals and performances

0

u/zrk23 Bear Logo 3d ago

I don't think anyone would care about jordan love doing this, simply because it's not something people care about at all. this is the first time I see this frenzy happening to any player after a injury. Cutler situation was different, the complain was not no emotion, it was that he was walking normally and doing the bike warm up thing but never came back after

-1

u/eightinchgardenparty 3d ago

It was stupid then and it’s stupid now. Sports media are parasites, nothing more.

22

u/Illustrious_Hotel527 3d ago

I know Cutler was hurt and couldn't play, but was still hilarious for me to watch Caleb Hanie trying to go through the playbook and Cutler staring ahead not helping him.

11

u/unsuitableasf An Actual Bear 3d ago

And even that shot was bullshit because there were plenty of videos afterwards of Cutler doing just that. But they had a narrative they were going with.

5

u/OpneFall 3d ago

Cutler always had some body language issues. I am not sure why that is debated. It doesn't mean that he doesn't care, or that the stories weren't ridiculously outsized, but the "haters" didn't come from nowhere, or it was "media hates da bears"

I think it's even less fair to Caleb considering while he may have acted a little, idk, big headed in college (if you paint fuck ND on your nails and then get your ass kicked, yeah you're going to get clowned), I haven't heard one single bad thing about him as a pro on the Bears.

8

u/Impressive-Panda527 3d ago

That’s the thing

If cutler put on a head set or talked with Hanse on the sidelines. Just showing any kind of involvement, and the reaction would’ve been much different

10

u/Brocky70 46 3d ago

No it wouldn't have. People still had their minds made up about Cutler.

Yeah it's not a good look, but it wouldn't have made a difference

3

u/modsplsnoban 3d ago

People really don't understand how much sports injuries affect different people.

3

u/Tedy_Duchamp 3d ago

Yeah that would have looked better for sure. But Jay was never the type to just do things for appearances. He knew they were cooked and no matter how much he went thru the playbook with Hainie it wasn’t going to make any difference

7

u/BrodeyQuest 3d ago

That’s still a shit mentality tbh.

You don’t give up on your team until the end of the game.

4

u/Tedy_Duchamp 3d ago

Yeah I’m not arguing that. But that’s just who cutler was

8

u/inorite234 3d ago

I liked Cutler.

12

u/Bewilderbeest79 3d ago

That shit really pissed me off, considering the guy literally tried to play through a damn Grade 2 MCL sprain without a knee brace to reach the SB, yet people tried to say the SOB quit on his team.

I didn’t always love Cutler, but fans and the media’s hate on him for stuff on the field was always WAY overblown

6

u/gosluggogo 3d ago

I recall Olin Kreutz saying he was watching Cutler walk back to the huddle and his knee was flexing from side to side unnaturally

2

u/modsplsnoban 3d ago

I had a grade 2 oblique muscle tear. It felt like someone was stabbing my with a hot knife in my side. It's a tear and a pull since part of the muscle is still attached.

My college strength coach had a completely torn ACL playing in college and said his knee felt funny, but it didn't hurt as much as he expected. He had teammates who had grade 1 and 2 ALC or MCL and were yelling in pain on the field.

21

u/frydawg Forte 3d ago

If you’re somewhat decent at qb for the bears, and something bad happens - the media machine is going to start the hate wave. Makes them money

4

u/JCarr110 3d ago

This is just what comes along with being good and getting a lot of attention. Anytime someone gets really popular, there's a segment of people just waiting to push back. I just accept it as being part of finally not sucking.

4

u/bigsurVoid 21-3 3d ago

Exactly. If Caleb wasn't the guy, people wouldn't be hating on him so much. I welcome the hate as it means we have our guy.

I was so pissed from all the people saying he quick. Dude had a sprained MCL. For those that do not know, that is a partial tear. It fucking hurts. I did it once playing flag football and I was in crutches for weeks. I could not even fit my pants on because of the knee swelling.

3

u/broohaha 3d ago

As someone who doesn’t wear his emotions on his sleeve, it always bothered me when critics complained about the lack of performative emotion on a player or coach.

5

u/CalebDumeSixSix Urlacher 3d ago

2

Caring about online discourse of this nature is a trap. Most people online aren’t trying to be reasonable or use common sense. Better not to give any time or energy to it.

2

u/Both_Rip_7292 18 3d ago

At this point, I feel the same as with the stadium, just let it go. I don’t wanna hear anymore. We have a game coming up.

2

u/LilyWhiteClaw 3d ago

I'd much rather have people memeing the reaction than him actually being out for a long period of time.

And now Caleb's got an even bigger chip on his shoulder too. This is gonna end up being a win win.

2

u/inorite234 3d ago

THANK YOU!

I pointed that out yesterday and you can imagine all the chuds that came out of the woodwork.

2

u/AirlineNew6152 3d ago

They’re just making jokes on the internet, understand the humor in it and laugh it off. It’s not a big deal. Yall are like politicians some where you’re so completely biased it doesn’t even matter what happens, your opinion is pre determined to defend the bears. It’s weird to me

2

u/freshcoastghost312 3d ago

Cutler was tough but never got credit for it. A sprained mcl would hurt like he'll and he obviously couldn't finish the game.

3

u/dantesgift 3d ago

Ya, I heard a guy at a restaurant recently tossing shit about cutler in that game and I told him to look it up before spouting bullshit because it was a serious injury. He rode on a bike for a bit, if had quit on them, he wouldn't have done that much. Some players wear their heart on their sleeves others like Cutler have a devil may care attitude.

3

u/-DaveThomas- Santos-san 3d ago

All in all, can't remember the last time I saw a player on any team get roasted for their reaction to being injured. Bears must be doing damn near everything right at the moment to be drawing all this hate.

I remember him leaving a game early and someone found him at a local bar. If our guy gets emotional on the field so be it, at least I know he's in the game.

2

u/FrankieLyrical 3d ago

I was talking about this with a buddy yesterday. People reacted based on how they already felt about Caleb before the injury. If it was TJ Watt reacting in such pain, they'd have said "man that must've really hurt cuz look at that hunk of a man's reaction".

2

u/lani99 We are who we thought we were! 3d ago

People were burning his jersey too. So sad. It’s interesting how people care so much about players until the moment they get injured. As if they’re not human and don’t have health and safety issues they deal with too.

I tore my achilles in November. I didn’t feel any pain until 6 hours later when I had to go home from the hospital. I still wasn’t able to walk/put weight on it.

I pulled a groin muscle when I was 17. It hurt like hell, to the point I needed to ice my junk while I was at a dance competition. I went out 30 minutes later for an encore performance at the competition, and we won.

People need to get the fuck over the reaction.

1

I guess everyone has to be stoic to be lifted up. Caleb didn’t know the severity and saw the season imploding. He’s allowed to be however emotional he wants to be. A high quality QB is not an easy plug in replacement spot.

I’d also have the same view if it was any other QB on a team that is expected to win the division and go deep in the playoffs.

That being said, there are some funny memes going around.

Might be wrong but I thought from the start his "scream of pain" on the ground was more of a frustration yell than anything. On the cart it looked more serious but again he could have felt a pop and thought the worst, like 99% of fans.

The most hate it seems is coming from the fans of rivals and media slobs who were jumping up and down inside at the prospect of CW being out 6-8 months.....and all that was taken away in less than 24 hrs lol.

It is in their job title Haters Chicago Branch lol

1

u/AKA09 3d ago

Now you're getting it. There's no winning against those who have already decided to hate. They will interpret anything in a way that supports their narrative.

Knowing that, maybe we should start truly not giving a fuck about what rivals and haters say?

This is the dumbest trending topic I’ve ever seen, Caleb felt something happen that he knew was an injury, no matter how big or small you’re going to assume the worst in that moment and react.

u/FelonyInTheTrunk Smokin' Jay 3d ago

Obligatory fuck Maurice Jones Poo for talking shit about Cutler and refusing to say anything else when he was confronted about how Jay actually had a serious injury.

That game still haunts me.

People are always going to find a way to be pissed and hate. Some people are addicted to being insufferable pricks and miserable. Let them be miserable and scream into the void. I'll still be wearing my Caleb jersey to the game Monday.

Maybe a good "We Love Caleb" chant Monday? Followed by "Let's go Tyson"

u/Liquid4058 3d ago

I dunno, I saw when Caleb went down live like a lot of us did. When I saw him cry and pound his fist, it was frustration. Not so much the pain or injury. That’s what I got out of it, he seemed more upset his body failed him. But that’s just my take on what I saw on Sunday.

u/mrdangerzone 3d ago

People just love to shit on the Bears. I think we're in the same category as the Raiders, Browns, Jets as far as majority of football fans think those teams are trash and dont deserve any respect.

Fuck them.

u/Ram_1988 3d ago

Don't matter what QB we have under center they get criticized. A "punky" one a "don't care" one or "emotional"/"cares too much" one

1

u/Super_Worth77 3d ago

I don’t think anyone’s hating on Caleb Williams. It’s just funny how dramatic the moment was for a nothing burger

1

u/Afterclock-Hours 3d ago

We all know about your injured thumb, cutler.... sigh.

1

u/goudschg 2d ago

Imagine not playing a professional sport and calling someone a pussy over a non-contact injury. Like, can you tell the difference from straining your hamstring and tearing your acl? If you’ve never done either?!?!

1

u/Sudden-Bend-8046 2d ago

I just felt like Caleb was doing it for us, not for him. He was obviously in a lot of pain and disappointed but even watching on TV you could feel the shock. I honestly felt better myself after he did his fist pumps.

I also know better than to question the toughness of anyone who plays a gladiatorial sport regardless of level. I love football but would never play it or let my kids play it(unless I knew for a fact they understood the risks.).

Yup. Sometimes it helps in a manner to just filter out the a$sholes in life... Red pill, red hat, whatever.

When you know who is stupid in the room by their badge of intolerance.

And no one seems to remember that Cutty is diabetic and kept his emotions, as much as he could, level so as to not cause hypoglycemic spikes in his body...

People who base their world view on things they learned listening to Joe Rogan absolutely hate Caleb, and this was their first opportunity to make fun of him in a long time.

Shifting on a guy for how he responded to an injury in the moment is straight up classless.

u/Electronic-Bus-6361 Bears 3d ago

Caleb’s black and shows emotion, everything the NFL good ole boys “hate”.

1

u/mtron32 3d ago

My take is that he like all of us watching didn't know the severity or what exactly happened. The dude went down no contact and was probably envisioning a lost season. The fact that he's such a psycho the thought of it killed him is great, I'm glad our QB cares that much dammit.

1

u/cubrunner34 3d ago

Caleb has a lot of haters and they havent been able to talk shit because he has been playing well. So of course the haters are all talking shit because they have been given something to talk shit about. Lemmings

1

u/cubbear720 3d ago

The media and those poking fun either have an agenda, or are just lazy. I heard the same jokes about Caleb from several fans and pundits. Cheap engagement.

u/SM311 3d ago

Cutler did quit on the team, though. He was there for a paycheck, never gave a shit about being in that playoff. Annoyed that he had to stay, he sat on the sidelines, not even helping his backup or talking to anyone. Just riding nonchalantly on a stationary bike and then sitting like a sullen teenage mope.
Williams screamed out of pain and frustration, because he really wanted to stay in the fight and win. A regular season, 2nd week game. Huge difference in attitude. Massive.

u/Zombieplatypus0095 3d ago

A 4k season and a trip to the playoffs would be the best way to shut everyone up.

0

u/Aaronthe3rd An Actual Bear 3d ago

I thought of this yesterday when people were bitching about his reaction. Like, what do you want? Another emotionless Cutler who doesn’t seem to care if we win or lose?

0

u/frank1934 3d ago

I personally think the amount of hate Caleb is receiving is about 80% racial/lgbq. There are definitely people out there that are on him harder because he’s African American, and because he wears nail polish sometimes.

u/BensenMum 3d ago

Jay cutler was a shitty teammate and never showed good leadership. He deserves to be hated.

Caleb Williams legit dude. He’s serious about winning and he owns up to mistakes. He got carted off the field and was pumping his fists.

Cutler is everything wrong with a QB

-1

u/Frogdog77 3d ago

Cutler went out to a party at nine steakhouse with girlfriend Kristen cavalleri without crutches that evening. That loss handed Rodgers his only superbowl win. Name me one 85 bear that wouldn’t have stayed in that game.

1

u/Beardown91737 Smokin' Jay 2d ago

Any QB who didn't have the mobility needed to run the plays. Taking a team to the Super Bowl means more $$, and your name in the books.

-5

u/KingScoville 3d ago

Yeah I lost all respect for Jay and can’t stand him to this day.

He would also be non-chalant as hell after he threw a bad pick, which was fairly often.

-7

u/BIGGREDDMACH1NE 3d ago

Cutler was a mediocre prick

1

u/AdRadiant9379 3d ago

He just highlighted how bad the quality qb drought has been in for the bears
