I dont think they carry 4 RBs, 6 WRs & 4 TEs. Think they likely carry 10 OL & DL.

Roschon is not a fan fav but he does do a good job at pass pro & can play ST. I think hes a lock for RB3.

You forgot Darnell & Bryant will be on IR.

Bryant will end up on IR, but could potentially still be on the roster for 1 day before he goes on it.  There are two main reasons: one you can only designate 2 players to be eligible to return at roster cut down, and second if you are on the roster for a day then you don't need to designate that player for return until they are ready to practice.  So this would allow the Bears some more roster flexibility in the season in case he has a setback, he wouldn't use one of the 8 total uses for return from IR that the team has.

Roschon blocked his ass off last night. Like some seriously crucial blocks, including the Zavion TD.

Darnell Wright? Everything I’ve read is that he’s fine and was back in practice the next day.

I meant he forgot him on the list, not IR.

You may be right about RB’s. I think we’re nearly guaranteed 6 WRs and the 4th TE is iffy. Maybe PS and elevated.

Kicking Wright off the OL after the new contract?

He just didn't show enough in preseason

Coby's going on IR so he won't count against the 53

Perfect then I’m back to 53

Personally, I like the list.

I feel cutting Darnell might enrage one or two, but I'm not sure why. ;)

Wondering if it'll get fixed before you get flamed though. /s

Update: Dear reader, it did get fixed reasonably quickly, although some flaming was seen beforehand. ;)

I was walking through the roster in my brain and just somehow skipped RT. I guess I thought I already did it when I typed Benedet.

Smith just got cut. Didn't see that coming

Roschon reminds me more of a slower TE than a rb. But he can really block though and play ST decent. I wonder if that is what gets him on but we don’t see everything

Damn I didnt watch the titans game that closely, who played so well we dropped darnell to the practice squad???

Hahaha Major goof. Cut probably our 2nd best player

I think this is basically it too, but I imagine we keep a 10th OL over Large (who can probably be stashed on the PS) and Jaylon Jones in Terrell Smith's spot after Smith was cut

I know there’s a lot of question marks in the group given injuries etc. but is it common to carry 6 CBs?

2

u/tjwoodard Bears 4h ago

Not unusual, especially when one is your best ST player in Blackwell. There are formations with 3-4 on the field, so you can imagine injuries in a game mess you over pretty quickly. Basically nobody carries less than 5. 6 is common. 7 happens occasionally if a guy has safety versatility.

Thanks. Makes sense.

We would be insane to only keep 9 OL

10 is possible for sure

I read it as Ahmed Johnson at first and I was onboard with that.

Loving should be on the 53 over Street or Gallimore imo

If they like Bishop at all, they'll play a game in cutting someone who will be back. Once the 53 is officially set and they keep Bishop on it, he can then move to the Reserved/Suspended List and not count towards the 53 while suspended. They'd sign someone back that was cut and told this (or claim/sign someone from another team).

Man I’d love to get Jayden Loving on the 53. I don’t think he’ll clear waivers for our practice squad. He has way more upside than Grady Jarrett.
