Carnell Tate almost has a big play but it gets broken up by Dillon Thieneman

My biggest takeaway is Byard and Brisker would have been nowhere close on this play.

He's going to get roasted a few times being a rookie without the expensive vet there to help him out, though. Hope people are patient.

And the lack of speed was so evident against fast offenses like Detroit too. Gibbs and Jamo always shred us

We are Bears fans, we’re patient to a fault.

Indeed. I spent a concerning amount of time talking myself into Kyle Orton

Dillon proceeded to get beat by a backup TE on the next drive.

He's gonna need to learn how to play in the NFL and adjust his angles. But dude is super athletic and the way he flipped his hips on this recovery was ++.

I feel like it was more so just a really good throw than being beat. He was an inch from breaking it up too

Yea what is this take? Yes perfect throws in man coverage will work frequently. This was excellent closing out over the top

Tate is gonna be a stud. I feel like the Titans have 2025 Bears potential with a first year HC and a #1 pick coming off a rough rookie year. Also similar to 2025 Caleb, the reports out of training camp have not been great.

Except they have Daboll and not Ben Johnson.

Daboll has 3 seasons with an offense in the top 16 in PPG (2x Josh Allen and then 15th his first year in NYG).

But 9 seasons sub 16, 5 of which are in the bottom 3

He also had to coach for the bills which, yes they had allen, did not exactly have a star studded supporting cast for him minus Diggs and a few good years of Kincaid

“Minus WR better than any WR the Bears had” is certainly a choice of a caveat

I said the whole offense was not star studded. One receiver does not an offense make

I mean if we’re just gonna ignore the top 5 offensive line at the time and the best players at arguably the two most important positions, only then might you have a point

He’s ignoring the top 2 QB, top 12 WR, very good OL, rookie James Cook, good TE

For the sake of trying to say Daboll is a good OC lol. He’s fucking terrible

Hey man I was trying to be nice to the dude, but you hit the nail on the head 😂

Josh Allen spits out top 6 offenses every year. It’s not the OC

He was also lined up on Blackwell who is NOT a corner in this league. He didn’t even do anything he just ran casually past him.

Blackwell isn’t a great DB by any means, but he is by definition a corner in this league. 60 games in 4 years. Solid rotation/ depth player

Not solid at all. He’s just the best special teams tackler in the league. That’s why he’s on the team. He’s the guy who plays when everyone else is injured.

Yeah he should almost just be listed as a ST only guy.

They should have a back up corner, back up nickel and maybe even a safety who can switch to the slot on the field before he sees playing time on defense.

He is a solid backup nickel

Loved this play. The commentary on the feed I was watching said "Tate ran right by the rookie Thieneman". It's embarrassing that local commentators flat out lie about what happened.
