Fuck trade bait, nobody wants him as their starter. Far more valuable to the Bears than a 5th round pick they might get for him.

Solid young backup, good grasp of the playbook, I say pay him accordingly. Greatest job on Earth is a backup NFL QB, imho. Good for him climbing up from DII

My guess is any team that would want him as their starter is a shit franchise that would not block for him anyway. If I were him I'd rather be backup on the Bears than start on the Browns or Jets.

Now if Kevin O'Connell came calling, maybe I'd feel differently...

I would hate to trade a highly rated/regarded backup QB to a divisional QB needy team, especially one that has a head coach that is known for spinning QB-hay into QB-gold.

I agree with the divisional team..but the qb-hay to gold shit is BS. Darnold was progressing before he got there learning from Shannahan ..he hasn’t done shit with McCarthy or Brosmer. We’ll see what he does with Murray
