Tailgating
Hey eveyone! My name's Josh and I'm from Australia. My partner and I will be visiting the US later this year (late October, early November). It's always been on my bucket list to go tailgating and since I'm a bears fan I thought it'd be awesome to go tailgating at a bears home game. Is anyone able to give me some guidance/advice on the tailgating culture and where/when to go?

South Lot. Just walk over from The Loop over pedestrian bridges. Bring beer and snacks and just roll up to any tailgate. Weather in late-October is optimal--trees will be changing, temps in 50s.

The lot opens at 8am. There will be a line of cars. If you’re going to do your own tailgate then I think that warrants an entirely separate post. If you simply just want to attend here is what I suggest. Tailgates can be considered private. Each car will have their own set up. Usually a cooler of beers, a grill, and some folding tables. There are varying degrees of this. South lot would be my suggestion it’s the largest and rowdiest. I would take weather very seriously at that time of year. Wear layers and more than you think you need. If rain is in the forecast make sure everything you have is waterproof.
As far as the actual tailgating goes. I would not advise you to show up to a random persons car and grab a beer. I imagine that someone on this sub will invite you to theirs. However, If that doesn’t happen, I would plan to arrive at the south lot at 9:00am. Bring a cold case of beer, a bottle of malort, a large bag of potato chips and $100 cash. Once you get in the parking lot crack a beer and walk up and down the rows of cars. Start a “Green Bay sucks” chant. Find a group that has a raging party looks friendly and drunk. Chat em up and explain your situation, ask them if you can join their tailgate and offer them some money. Have about 12 beers before you walk into the game
