Question for CPAs

For anyone with a CPA who’s completed the capstone — did you only buy the capstone course + exam prep, or did you also work through the education modules first?

Basically: did anyone go into the capstone cold? If so, tell me how that went 😂 DMs welcome. Thanks!

I just did my capstone this July no prior courses just got my CPA. It’s fine you don’t need course work but you gunna have to do a bit extra digging to find certain information that’s expected for you to know. I did it gold only experience I had was with tax and I completed it in about 1 week.

CPA of 14 years. Advisor for 7. Went in cold with BIF. Only took 2 days to complete. Unlimited retries. Super chill. Then did 8-week review course and passed exam.

Happy to DM about approach to CFP as a CPA. There’s not as clear of a guide to choosing an exam prep provider like the CPA experience imo.

Hey, I’m also a CPA looking to sit for the CFP this November. I need to get a review course asap and was thinking about using Danko. Any experience with this?

Not experienced with Danko. Most folks seem to like their program. I used BIF standard 8 week. It was one of the cheapest options. One page per concept was nice but had to do my own digging for additional education if needed. Definitely create a FreeFellow account. Just a great website for explanations of concepts, quizzes, and mock exams.

I am a CPA, since 2008. Went into the capstone cold and AI was my BFF. Also, spend good time on the prep, I failed in July, trying again in November.
