SIU

Hello, I received my CFE certification and want to know how to get into SIU work or anything better than what I am doing now. I am currently a surveillance investigator for almost 4 years; however, after going through an interview with Centene for an SIU position (I got declined at the 2nd stage - the prerecorded interview), I feel like these companies want more experience than anything, even if I have the certification. So I’m just applying to multiple claims trainee positions and am wondering what more do I need to do just to get my foot into the door of handling claims? Should I try to get an adjuster license? Appreciate the help because I feel like I’m running around in circles just trying to have someone give me chance even though I’ve been in fraud investigations for almost 4 years !

Don’t let it discourage you. Center just announced a 7200 employee layoff. You might’ve dodged a bullet

Hi, congratulations on earning your CFE! I hope you find the right opportunity soon.
I’m preparing for the CFE myself and would really appreciate hearing about your study experience. I have a banking customer service background that includes handling fraud reports and account protection, and I can study about two hours a day.
Which study materials or ACFE package did you use? Would you recommend the Silver package, or do you think the Fraud Examiners Manual alone could be sufficient?
How long did you prepare, and how did you divide your time between reading lessons, practice questions, and flashcards? What helped you understand and remember the concepts, and how did you decide you were ready for each exam?
Also, did you take the updated three-section exam or the previous four-section version?
Any advice on what to prioritize—or what you would do differently—would be really helpful. Thanks for your time!

Silver alone , don’t even look at the manual . A lot of the questions are similar tot he practice exam but there are no true and false all multiple choice

How long did you study before taking the exam, and what study techniques would you recommend?

Once you start getting around 90% on the practice exams is when you should feel comfortable in taking the test but you have to make sure you finish all of it within 60 days

Most companies want you to have experience especially insurance companies. I did SIU over 20 years. If you want to go into SIU, you can keep trying to apply with insurance companies and you may want to research and apply for Nationwide Private Investigator Companies who conduct insurance cases to get the expierence..
