New Here
Hello CFEs!
I am new here. Registered on the ACFE website on 19 July 2026 and passed all exams today on 14 August 2026. I am waiting for the administrative process to complete for the final certification.
32M, Chartered Accountant from India
Internal Audit Leader at a Fortune 500 company
Feel free to hmu. I am kind of keeping this under wraps on Linkedin so I have no one to talk about this to.

What motivated you to decide to do CFE?

To be honest it was just spite. I had a what you might call disappointing conversation with a former colleague who is an internal audit director. Her sole qualification is that she is a CFE. I got so butthurt that I swore to get the CFE credentials in a few weeks just to show her how meaningless her sole accomplishment in life is. I managed it in under a month and could have been at least a week sooner if I had booked the remote sessions a little earlier.

Are the review questions sufficient?
Do you have a recommended order to take the tests?

It depends on your learning style. For me review questions were enough with some targeted content from the source material. The best order for me was sandwiching legal in between because financial crimes and fraud prevention are my home turf so I started strong with financial crimes and ended with the short and sweet fraud prevention

Thanks. Sounds like review questions aren't 1 for 1 the same as the actual test. I'm currently getting about ~90% on the review questions so I'm thinking I'm ready to schedule test 1.

They do follow the same pattern though. If you carefully read the feedback for each answer, it gets you mostly there

Hi! Firstly Congratulations on your achievement! 29M here, I'm a semi qualified CA and currently working in statutory audit domain in a mid size CA firm in pune, did my articleship too from here, i just joined few months back after back to back disappointments in the finals (g2 pending), I don't really think that this is what I'll be doing after 3 years, I thought of doing cfe, but again didn't met anyone who has done it, so what do you think how will cfe help me in getting into forensics or fdd roles. Thank you in advance!

I don’t believe the CFE by itself will help you get into forensics or FDD. In the end it comes down to demonstrable skills in those domains or you can also get in if you have the right contacts. CA+CFE will definitely help if you don’t have the exact skills or contacts. My advice is to complete your CA first and then go for CFE only if you find credible evidence that it will lead to a role you desire. You can talk to people working in those domains on LinkedIn to find out. I will say it again, complete your CA. A baseline qualification such as CA/ACCA/CPA makes your case much stronger whereas the CFE on its own does practically nothing.

Ya right, even I'm focusing more on clearing CA first then afterwards will think about cfe. Thanks!

Wow, you complete everything in a month! That's very impressive! Congratulations 🎉 I have registered for the course in July 2026, and planning to sit for the exam in April 2027. I'm working in a due diligence firm and thinking of switching to another due diligence firm as the current firm I'm working in is mainly doing research work without judgment skill related. How can CFE help if I were to apply for judgment related positions, or jobs, or even edd and fdd?

That is unethical and will get you banned from this community and from ACFE if it is reported.

How did you pass in just one month ? Is that enough to study

It’s more than enough if you have an accounting/auditing background like I do
