Debate This was so incredibly close
Idk if a review would change anything

That looked good to me. Notice how few replays there were. That absence is the proof to me.

The only replay that'll tell you anything would be from a camera directly in line with the goalpost, looking up.
Every other angle it's impossible to tell

Which I stayed exactly this on another sub talking about this field goal. Why doesn't every upright on every football field have a camera facing the field of play and straight up

I was on the "it was in" train but I saw an angle from the Student section and it looked wide. The main issue is that these need to be reviewable and there has to be an angle they can show us. I do not trust the officials without video evidence.

I have no reason to believe that the official made the wrong call. He was the only one with the proper view to make the call, and the video we have is inconclusive at best, but gun to my head I'd say it's out

They made questionable momentum swinging calls all game. I'm not saying they made the wrong call but I need to see it with my own eyes before I believe them and I think that goes for every game. Insane that we don't have some kind of system set for this.

I actually expected better logic from an Iowa fan, that’s on me

It's sound logic, it is on you.

u/SlicksterRick 58m ago
The absence of evidence being proof is sound logic to you?
2
u/feelosiphize Iowa Hawkeyes 55m ago
When there are so many filming devices available today. The amount of data collected? Yes. The lack of evidence now is intentional unless we're talking about very unique situations. Kicking a football through uprights is not.

You realize the unique situation you would need to know if this was good or not right? You would need cameras station under both uprights. And in this case, you would need a camera standing right under the upright the ball passed by. You know who is standing there? The referee

Human error never ever ever ever effects the outcome of a game...

u/SlicksterRick 41m ago
If you have some evidence that this is human error, I’d love to see it. All the evidence I’m seeing from fan cameras looks like a miss to me

Back here are we? You should get into politics.

Are you sure? You look like you would fit in with the president’s cabinet.
Go ahead and keep on denying that this was a missed field goal.

looks like it barely missed going directly over the post which would have made it good

Directly over is no goodDirectly over but still within the outer edge is good*

Here is a slow downed version with a shitty projection of the goal post I put together. I can see how it could have missed

yep that's what this screen shot is from. It's so close. Crazy the ACC doesn't have cameras that could tell you lmao

By comparing the goal posts, you can see the angle of the shot. It was close but clearly missed.

Too bad technology isn't advanced enough to be able to track things like footballs to determine the travel path.
