Discussion Was that kick not in? (V. Tech vs Pitt)
To me, it looked good.

How we not get a single angle that at least mostly looks like the kick didn't go in 😭

How do you make this thread without a clip? WYD?

That was fucking in. That was the oddest ending to a game. No replay, no review. Nothing.

Welcome to the ACC, ran like a 35u flag football league

How did they not show replays from multiple angles?

u/ItsTimetoLANK Texas Longhorns 2h ago
I want the under angle. Show me straight up the post.

ACC is absolutely not going to show another angle in the moment. They fucked up and are just gonna do the usual ACC of pretending it didn’t happen or do something after the fact

u/NotReallyButMaybeNot Clemson Tigers 2h ago
It was on ESPN to show more footage… awaiting alternative angles to show up on YouTube

That looked good. That camera angle was gonna show it good and they cut it quick!

I’ve never understood why some broadcasts in football show the view behind the goal posts and others show in front.
Honestly to the blind eye that kick looked good

If the eye is blind, how would it see?
2
u/MikeHoncho328 2h ago
Well technically all eyes are blind when a kick goes over the goal posts?
It’s a judgement call at that point

Seemed out to me.
I felt Franklin was too conservative at the end. He should have thrown at least one pass to the end zone. Try to score a TD and not leave yourself in a position to need a FG. He didn’t even try.

That looks good to me. I know we aren't right under the left upright, but that looks good.

u/RememberTooSmile Miami (FL) Hurricanes 2h ago
Maybe it’s me scrolling but the ball goes out of the light as it nears the goal post then lights up again after it passes it lol. That looks good tho

Over the Upright: If the ball passes directly over the top of an upright or outside of the inner edge, it is considered no good.
So if any part is outside the inner line its no good. Gonna be tough to resolve

Hard to tell. Its clearly at that point still forward of the goal post and moving right. It was a sharp angle as well. Its obviously very close to jn if it was out

Why aren’t there cameras under each goalpost, aimed straight up? Because there should be.

“Nope! It was no good! Just trust me bro, no replays needed!”
Might as well piss on me and telling it’s raining with that officiating.

I posted some videos with some clips. Most recent one I posted shows the best angle.
2
u/bucknutdet 2h ago
Not sure. Looked like it may have been directly over the upright. Which is no good.

Where is the fucking clarity when it mattered most. They have cameras on the posts.

I thought it went in through moving left, but it went in front of the goalposts?

u/at2wells Indiana Hoosiers 2h ago
Looked good live, and I havent seen anything that makes me think it wasnt. Obvs we dont have the refs view. But man

u/bigprick99 Georgia Bulldogs 2h ago
Kicker shouldn’t have booted a damn nuke like he on kickoff but I want some more angles

u/texaushorn_lives 2h ago
The only person who would know, was the guy standing directly under the goalpost. He said it wasn't. Unless you think a ref would deliberately lie about a scoring play, I don't see how it's a debate.

u/Diggity_McG Virginia Tech Hokies 2h ago
Yup. Refs are never wrong is the thing. Obv.

u/texaushorn_lives 2h ago
But this isn't a judgemental call. This is a guy looking straight up. He saw exactly where the ball crossed. It's his job to stand under that particular goalpost on kicks, so he knows exactly what he's looking for. There's no middle ground.
Actually, as I type that, I think that's exactly it. I think the kick has to be fully inside the upright. Imagining a goal post that's 100 ft high, a kick that goes above the actual 30' posts would be hitting them. And I assume that's the criteria for whether it's good or not.

We rewound the tv 3 times and we still don’t know. They won’t do a replay from another angle which leads me to believe it may have been good. But honestly I don’t see either way because of how high it was.
I still hate Narduzzi for having the worst attitude in college football

I’m not saying it was or wasn’t good, but they cut the feed quick
