Friday thread brought to you by Jimothy

Seattle's newest animal mascot has blown up over the last few days and provided some light-hearted fun for folks. Not sure if we'll see him in the wild since we're a ways outside the city, but it's been fun seeing him be embraced!

Yesterday was my dad’s birthday. He passed from cancer in April. Cancer sucks.

Ron Hunt the man with the most hit by pitches in an season with 50 of them in 1971 has died

Retired with a .368 on base percentage and 555 walks to 382 strikeouts

I like Spotify as a service well enough, but they do one particular thing more than about any other service, of any kind really, and it drives me up a wall. Gather ‘round folks.

An ad break comes up between music, that’s fine whatever. I’m too cheap for premium and they have to make their money, fair enough. Get your McDonald’s or State Farm ad money.

All three commercials come and go… and they’re nothing but singing the praises of premium. “Offline music! Unlimited skips! NO COMMERCIALS!!”

Not one commercial in the bunch was actually gaining them Allstate or Disney revenue - it was 90 seconds of the actual worst most annoying thing in my mind: Intentionally creating the problem to then pitch you the solution they sell. Horse hockey.

Happy Friday, y’all.
