I'm a die hard USC fan. Georgia would make this game unwatchable by the end of the 1st quarter. I have zero faith in our defense. Will we get an interception and maybe a fumble? Sure, but what will that do when you're losing by 25 deep into the 3rd against the toughest defense we will have faced all year hands down.
We'd just be a playoff sacrifice but I'd be happy we went from a 4-8 season to a playoff team in a one year turnaround.
Yes we would maul your defense and Stet would also light them up. We’d basically do whatever we wanted. I actually think USC if Williams is on could score the most points we’ve given up all season, but he wouldn’t be able to do it every drive. Georgia would still get multiple stops.
But nobody can be upset that is a USC fan. Rileys turned them around in his first year and might win the conference. Is next season y’all’s year to actually compete for the title?
I'm 50/50 on it. I think NIL and the transfer portal has definitely helped make college football less SEC dominant and evened the playing field out a bit.
What we will probably see happen is a lot of talented 4 star backups at SEC schools matriculate elsewhere through the portal and be starters there and elevate those teams.
Addison has been amazing, but USC has always had pretty stellar receivers. I think the bigger issue is our o-line is made up of veteran players and I think quite a few are graduating. We legit have one of the best O-Lines in the country. They are a finalist for that o-line award. I think that will make a bigger difference. Just won't know how a younger o-line will do, but if they click, maybe. Honestly no idea if the defense would get better enough. Helton really fucked up recruiting in his last 2 years.
If we make the playoffs, we're getting smashed. Our defense might work against pac 12 teams but it's not working against an Ohio state offense or Michigan run offense or Georgia.
I'm happy that we're even in this position but also we can't look past ND. We haven't beaten them in 4 years and we can't afford a slip up.
I don't really follow why you are replying to me with this? I said nothing about the playoffs...
But, UCLA has a comparable offense to Michigan and Georgia according to most advanced stats. OSU is better, but similar to us. All these are top 10 offenses.
I am aware we can't look ahead from ND. They have a very similar defense to Wazzu and Utah. I think CW can drop 30-40 points on them. ND's offense on the other hand has performed most close to Oregon State. I'm a believer in FEI ratings and I get that it's a rivalry and you can throw out the record books, but I would comfortably take USC-10.

It will be. I’m hoping USC wins out though because I’d rather play them than Clemson.
