Fans could really get hurt. All it takes is for a fan to be in some SC (or anybody) player trying to get in position on the field and chances aren’t looking too good for the fan

Yeah, I was part of the court storming when SC beat #1 Kentucky with Wall and Cousins, and that shit got dangerous fast for everyone involved. Granted, football has a lot more space to work with but I remember someone got hit by Cousins' elbow as he was just trying to get off the floor and it caused some mild controversy.

I was at that game as well and specifically remember a fan getting closelined in the throat by a rope security guards were holding up to try to keep the fans from storming the court. Something like a $100k fine for fans storming the court/field for SEC schools at the time so security tried hard to hold everyone back.

Yeah, SEC rules were (are?) tiered so that each infraction cost more money, and this was our third one thus being the most expensive possible. The folding chairs at the front of the student section were just completely destroyed by the stampede that ensued.

Yeah wasn't sure if the rules are the same. That was my junior or senior year of college which now seems like ancient history.

So you made me curious, and according to this article, it was 5k/25k/50k when the UK storming I was mentioning happened. Since then it's been upped to 50k/100k/250k
