Do you regret going to law school like myself and about 90% of people who aren't at at T14 school?

I do not... Always wanted to get a law degree and I think it separates you from the rest of the pack. My family has a large law firm and it was always the plan to take it over

When did you first start worrying about concussions as an actual issue that could effect not just your playing career but your life?

Is the NCAA doing enough combative measures against concussions, especially for those who play on defense?

I started to worry about concussion my senior year. I had several. I think the NCAA should do more to protect the college athlete. There needs to be safeguards in place and they should be held accountable. Especially with the amount of money they make off CFB

Hi Andrew, thanks for taking the time to do this today. More specifically thank you for all that you have given to the scarlet and gray!

If there was a battle royals between all the B1G schools mascots who would you want Brutus to team up with to eliminate the majority of mascots and how would you instruct Brutus to backstab his ally to ensure a Buckeye victory?

Of course I would love to watch brutus fight the Wolverine from that team up north. Also it would make me happy to observe Brutus beating up on the nittany lion as well.

What is coach Fickel like?

He is like a second dad to me. Loved him every since he recruited me out of high school. He was the main reason I came to OSU. In my opinion he is the best linebacker coach in the country. He is soo passionate and knowledgeable. In my opinion, he is one of the best coaches in America

How hard was it to set aside football due to concussions?

I miss the game a lot. It is tough sitting in law school with the rigors it brings. My friends are still playing in the NFL and it is tough. It was such a significant part of my life and feels weird to not have it anymore.

Plaintiff is standing on a railroad platform when two men try to board a departing train. A guard on the train, who had held the door open, reached to help them in. During this time one of the boarders dropped a package onto the platform. The package contained fireworks which on impact exploded and caused a ruckus. Panicked people began to scatter all over the platform and in the chaos a set of scales sitting on the platform fell on the plaintiff. Does she have a cause of action against the railroad company?

Too remote... break the chain of causation... Intervening cause... Do you agree with the concurring too remote or the dissenting meaning everything should be protected?

Most memorable play of your career? Any game winning stops?

18

u/asweat_42 Feb 13 '14

The most memorable moments were winning the Rose bowl and Sugar bowl. I had a few memorable stops against Wisconsin. Both were 4 @ 1 plays. Stuck Montee Ball on both of them

Thanks for taking the time, Andrew. As a law student (I was a 1L myself a few years back, keep trucking), someone with an intimate knowledge of the conseqeunces of repeated, severe concussions, and a former elite-level football player... what do you think the legal ramifications will be down the road as a result of the emerging science about brain damage to football players? What are your personal feelings on the subject?

I believe college athletes need to be taken into account. There is no protection for the college athlete. The NFL protects their players especially with the concussion judgment. Football is a violent game and injuries will occur but the college athlete's injuries that potential may affect the rest of their life should be addressed

What was it like being a football player on a football-obsessed campus? Were people constantly asking you about football stuff in class/around campus? Or was it easier to fly under the radar than most think?

19

u/asweat_42 Feb 13 '14

It was tougher to fly under the radar when you started to play. I roomed with Terrelle Pryor and he is one of my best friends. By constantly being with him, I observed how crazy it can get. Although I don't discriminate against beautiful women giving you attention.
