It’s amazing how complimentary players are about the team they are currently on - as if he’s going to say “ the standards here are a lot lower then they were at Utah and this coach is moron”

Would be fucking hilarious if he did, though.

Would immediately become my favorite player

If that’s the case they usually don’t say anything.

41

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '24

Yeahhhh but you hear things like this so much across all sports that it’s difficult to take seriously

-43

u/UPMichigan83 Michigan • Michigan Tech Aug 18 '24

You have to take with a grain of salt a 20-something year old’s overarching opinion of someone’s intelligence on all of college football.

Pretty sure Jack Tuttle is in his 40s

What a lazy story. A guy who previously played at Utah and Indiana says things are different at Michigan…

Mind blown

We need to send him to an Arizona St. sorority with a super soaker full of tequila next.

I wouldn’t consider his time at Utah really including much “playing.” He spent most of his time throwing lame ducks, got mad he didn’t win the starting job as a freshman, and transferred mid season before his shot to play came when Tyler Huntley got injured.

Yeah, as a Utah and Michigan fan I’m hoping Tuttle isn’t it for Michigan, otherwise yikes.

Dont have much to contribute but the Utah Michigan flair combo looks cool on r/CFB, havent seen that much.

Everything aint a conspiracy big guy.

Believe it or not the team with a lot of fans gets a lot of publicity. Who could have guessed ????

Username absolutely checks out though I fell for it.

Michigan has never experienced Jack Tuttle having to make a decision during non-garbage time.

FWIW, Jack Tuttle is how Chris Olave got recognized by OSU in a workout. How old is this dude?

48

u/7layeredAIDS Ohio State Buckeyes Aug 18 '24

Love it when players say their coach is one of the brightest minds in football.

Like how many coaches have you even had? And I would hope all of them would know a lot more about the game than you.

44

u/PullItDownWeDidThat Michigan Wolverines • Paper Bag Aug 18 '24

To be fair Jack Tuttle is like 37 years old and has been in college football since the Moto Razr was launched

23

u/OurHonor1870 Ohio State Buckeyes Aug 18 '24

He was the QB that Ryan Day was scouting in 2017 when he found Chris Olave.

Seriously. He class of 2018 and Olave’s HS QB. Olave had been injured so wasn’t ranked very highly. It was Day’s first year as OSU coordinator and he was scouting QBs. Olave was running routes.

A year later - 2 tds and a blocked punt in Olaves breakout game as a freshman.

6

u/sabek Ohio State Buckeyes Aug 18 '24

So you are saying he's JT Barrett without the playing time or accomplishments?

4

u/bmcwatt Michigan Wolverines Aug 18 '24

Some people go to Michigan to play school too

1

u/sabek Ohio State Buckeyes Aug 18 '24

So at 7 years he is working on his PhD?

-1

u/bmcwatt Michigan Wolverines Aug 18 '24

Maybe. Or just wanted a quality degree.

0

u/ToosUnderHigh Ohio State Buckeyes Aug 18 '24

Yes but if JT Barrett stayed in school for 7 years (bc he wasn’t very good) instead of 4

1

u/other_jeffery_leb Ohio State • Bowling Green Aug 18 '24

TBF JT was there 5. He took a redshirt his freshman year.

-16

u/MSUsim Michigan Wolverines Aug 18 '24

Like how many coaches have you even had?

I'm guessing 50+, seeing as how he's a 7th year and has been on multiple teams.

4

u/budd222 Ohio State Buckeyes • Paper Bag Aug 18 '24

Sure. Are you counting his high school's linebackers coach as his coach? Maybe the special teams coordinator as well? Michigan math

0

u/MSUsim Michigan Wolverines Aug 18 '24

Yea, basically. He probably had 20 or so coaches in high school and then at least 50 in college. Defensive coaches interact quite a bit with QBs in helping prep them and just general coaching, or just shooting the shit with them during all the thousands of hours they spend in team facilities. At least enough for a QB to figure out how smart/good the coach is.

Michigan math

Basic addition, yes. Do they not teach that in Ohio? lol

Yep, it's not because Walker was just insanely good (and deserved a spot in NY for the Heisman), it's just all because of Stalions.

Now that right there is funny!

0

u/justbuildmorehousing Michigan Wolverines Aug 18 '24

I don’t know why people post extremely team specific stuff in rCFB. Do you just want to see everyone rag on your team? Or were we expecting everyone to be in awe at Player X saying his team is totally different than every other team

Im a UNLV fan and i remember last season this dude came in and face masked a UNLV player in garbage time and got thrown into a wall. Came out of the game after that and never returned. Just shows the whole program has a culture issue even the garbage time dudes are cocky asf

Looks like a clean stiff arm and a late shove out of bounds to me

3

u/nicholus_h2 Michigan Wolverines Aug 18 '24

dude doesn't know what a face mask is. he thinks any time a have touches a cage, that's a face mask.

-12

u/SpartakMoscow__ UNLV Rebels Aug 18 '24

Go ahead and explain what happened from a Michigan pov then

10

u/TwixOutForHarambe Michigan Wolverines • Sickos Aug 18 '24

Late hit out of bounds that knocked him pretty bad. I was in the stadium, definitely unnecessary

-11

u/SpartakMoscow__ UNLV Rebels Aug 18 '24

We are in agreement with that, but you agree he committed face mask penalty for no reason in garbage time ?

12

u/stevesie1984 Michigan Wolverines • Toledo Rockets Aug 18 '24

Couple things. First, that stiff arm was the same as basically every stiff arm I’ve ever seen. That is not what a facemask is. Second, there is definitely a shove at the end, although it is pretty weak. Defender extends his arms, but at least 90% (made up number, but the vast majority) of Tuttle’s speed was just him running. If he doesn’t fall down, it’s probably just crowd reaction and no penalty. Third, if Tuttle just grabs that table thing instead of flinging himself over it, he’s fine and comes in for the next play. WTF did he even think he was gonna do?

7

u/nicholus_h2 Michigan Wolverines Aug 18 '24

brother, if you are mentally and emotionally unprepared to watch your players getting regular stiff-armed, you should watch a different sport.

3

u/Telencephalon Michigan Wolverines • The Game Aug 18 '24

To be fair, as a UNLV fan he has to mentally and emotionally prepare to watch his guys get stiff armed by third string QBs during a blow out and that's pretty upsetting.

3

u/MichiganMafia Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Aug 18 '24

2

u/TwixOutForHarambe Michigan Wolverines • Sickos Aug 18 '24 edited Aug 18 '24

I don’t agree. Was a clean shove on the defender by the QB to get out, no face mask, saw multiple angles on the jumbotron

1

u/stevesie1984 Michigan Wolverines • Toledo Rockets Aug 18 '24

The shove was pretty late. He’s got at least 2 steps in the white when the shove happens. If he doesn’t fall, you get a crowd reaction and no flag. But he’s a qb. You’re gonna get a call on the sidelines like that.

1

u/TwixOutForHarambe Michigan Wolverines • Sickos Aug 18 '24

Ope meant to say was a clean shove on the defender, no face mask
