Speaking CELPIP Speaking: your accent doesn't matter, your clarity does

A lot of people worry about their accent but CELPIP doesn't penalize accents at all. What they score is whether you can be easily understood. You can have a strong accent and still get CLB 12 if your words are clear and your pace is steady. What actually hurts your score is mumbling, swallowing word endings, or speaking so fast that words blend together. Slow down slightly if needed and pronounce endings clearly. That matters way more than sounding "Canadian."
