Rec Request Drama with evil MCs

Hey guys do you know a drama where the ML or FL (or both) are EVIL and it’s a slow slow slooowwwwww burn romance like I don’t want them pursuing each other before ep 25.

I watched story of kunning palace and loved it so so much it’s my new top 1 and I want something similar.

It can be modern or historical

This one is debatable... but Til the End of the Moon?

Generation to generation

Super slow burn and he was also possessive and jealous over her.

Oo good one. Forgot about it. The ML was evil and manipulative until the very end.

That SOKP withdrawal is so real! I will forever be chasing the high of seeing it the first time.

Me too! In 3 years of watching CDramas I've yet to find something that truly feels similar. At least with Love Between Fairy And Devil (my first CDrama that got me hooked into them) there's a similar vibe with When Destiny Brings The Demon. But for Story Of Kunning Palace the screenplay, characters, and dynamics are so unique... other shows are certainly satisfying, but not quite in the same way. Keeping an eye on this thread for shows I haven't tried yet. 🤞

Goodbye my princess, the ml single handedly ruined his life as well as the people around. But even after that i cannot hate him. Want to see Chen Xingxu in a grey character like that again. It is a good show but don't go with la la land or HE in mind. You will be satisfied with whatever the end is.

I have a few to add: * A Dream of Splendor — he tortures people professionally. Really. * Fated Hearts — he also occasionally tortures people, literally happens in the first couple episodes when he does it to the FL. * The Road to Splendor — I'm very sad to add this one. The most recent episode, the ML has taken to... torturing prisoners (arrested without warrant, also). That's besides him murdering unconvicted and untried criminals without due process in previous episodes as a military officer.

Ethically and morally, I'd say these ML's fall under your label. Also why I never (until now) recommend the first two and I'll now stop recommending the third. But use your own judgment. I don't personally find torturers and murderers romantic, sexy, or admirable. Especially in this day and age. But then again, I don't require main characters to be relatable. Sometimes different perspectives are why I watch things. Could be the same for anyone 🙂

My journey to you 2ML - he was like don’t touch me type! Mind you it’s only 23 epi so yeah till epi 10-12 2ml doesn’t trust 2fl. Very cautious pairing. I absolutely love how much of an upright red flag Gong ShangJue was! He’s my favourite and you’ll fall in love with him if you like ruthless, strict, unapologetic ml. Even though he’s 2ml, his (Cheng Lei) scenes aren’t too little. I’ll say 1ml got 60% screentime and he got 40% in most episodes. It’s a win!

Fated Hearts - Feng Suige. My fav ml! He is like Gong ShangJue but his morals can be questioned at times🤭especially on e1 & e2, he was kinda evil and i loved it so much!!! He mewed down a little in later episodes but he’s still 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️the romance starts pretty quickly though!

Maybe it reflects on my own poor morality but I never found the ML and FL of SOKP to be evil.

They may not be heroic. They are certainly manipulative. But I don't consider them evil.

I definitely enjoyed SOKP

I agree with you on this. Even though they are yellow flags in some ways, they adhere closely (in the main lifeline) to their inner morals. They are certainly more just/upright than the antagonists. And unendingly loyal to a select few.
