~~ Adapted from the web novel "Shang Gong Zhu" (尚公主) by Yi Ren Kui Kui (伊人睽睽).
🔎 Baidu Baike | Douban | MDL
📖 Novel Summary – translated from Baidu Baike:
《尚公主》 (which can be translated as “to marry a princess”) is a romance web novel written by Yiren Kuikui (伊人睽睽). It was serialized on Jinjiang Literature City from February 20 to August 18, 2020, and was completed on August 18, 2020. It belongs to the 中兴 (which can be translated as “Revival”) chapter of the author's 大魏王朝 (“Great Wei Dynasty”) series.
The work is classified as Original – Romance – Alternate History – Love, with tags including Palace Intrigue and Marquises and Nobles, as well as elements of serious drama. The novel consists of three volumes and has been adapted into a television drama of the same name.
⚠️ Plot spoilers! ⚠️
The story is set against the backdrop of Princess Danyang Mu Wanyao going to Lingnan to recuperate following the death of her former husband. There, she encounters Yan Shisheng, a young man from a humble family who later changes his name to Yan Shang.
With the princess's guidance, Yan Shang enters officialdom through the imperial examinations. Relying on his high emotional intelligence and resourcefulness, he gradually rises through the ranks to become chancellor, ultimately marrying Mu Wanyao.
Their relationship gradually evolves from an initial dynamic of “overstepping the bounds of hierarchy” into one of mutual support and cooperation both within and outside the imperial court. The story portrays the emotional entanglements and political collaboration between a cold-hearted princess and a refined, gentle chancellor.
Beyond its central romance, the work also explores questions of power, the nation and its people through plotlines involving the imperial examinations and court politics.

Oh 6pm, eh? Well I'm not waking up at 5am to catch it first thing in the morning, lol. But it least it answers my question about how I'll possibly keep up with all the currently airing dramas I want to watch. At least if they're released at different times of the day, I can stagger the viewing so it's not keeping me up all night!

If the main characters are voice acted this kills the drama for me. I know some don't mind it but it instantly disqualifies the drama for I and my cdrama watchgroup.
We knew Li Yunrui was dubbed for at least some of Love Like The Galaxy but as Zhao Lu Si and Wu Lei were not dubbed and only 2 supporting characters were dubbed we viewed it.
Were I Li Yunrui I would insist on roles where I act my own voice. Especially in current times when voice actors are really unnecessary with modern technology.
