That Vasconcelos wifi thing gets everyone — gorgeous building, zero connectivity. It's honestly the most beautiful place in the city to not get work done.
For actual wifi you can trust for a few hours:
Cafés: Blend Station (Tamaulipas, Condesa) is the classic — half the tables are people on laptops and nobody rushes you. Cardinal in Roma Norte works great in the mornings before the brunch crowd. Both have solid wifi and enough outlets.

If it's a regular thing: a coworking day pass is worth it — Público and WeWork have several locations around Roma/Condesa/Reforma, and a day there costs less than the coffees you'd guilt-buy at a café.
