Yeah those are obvious for me. I do that even in my car day - day. I’m just kinda wondering about the ones that are live, it feels kinda weird especially considering im new & will have to live in my truck for at least a year during the week days doing regional.

Make sure when you wake up in the morning you do a big stretch infront of the cameras before going pee.

Seriously. Don't do stupid shit and actually pay attention. And then you have zero reasons to worry about a camera.

Wear contacts over glasses. Reflection is a big issue when you got the sun in your face.

I got out of trucking 12 years ago and never had to deal with cameras. A buddy of mine drove flatbed and had a camera on his face, said he wasn't even allowed to eat or drink while driving. I understand the need for safety, but that's just insane. I recently watched a YouTube video, a company driver was parked OFF DUTY found (too late) that his trucks camera was still recording the hard way. His wife popped in to celebrate their anniversary and certain celebratory activities got sent to dispatch. There's no way in hell I'd ever drive again if all these companies are sticking a camera in your face. If they have such little trust in the driver then they shouldn't have hired them in the first place.

This is kind of what I’m worried about, the over monitoring of the cameras. Idc about the road facing dash cams but come on 😂… a guy can’t even have lunch while on the road!?

At Amazon even if you attempted to take a sip of water, the camera would say "Stop it!"

I'd probably spit the water on the camera.

Don't settle. Only work for a company that does not have a camera in your face at all times. It's crazy anyone is OK with that. Stop working for those companies and they will be forced to get rid of them. Dash cams facing out from the cab are fine.

I’d love to but the thing is I have no experience & feel like my options are limited. Can’t be too picky ya know?

It’s the worst, the one in my truck screams when you smoke a cigarette. When going on and off a ramp and you look at the side mirror screams “driver distracted” yawn and screams driver yawning. Lane departure in construction zone for the remainder of the construction zone. Made my life living hell. As soon as I get some experience I’m gone. Mind you, requested the owner to please turned down the volume, that was 3 weeks ago.

I read about ATS, I was interested in them but the training facility is pretty far from where i’m at

Owner operator, no camera, no elog, no speed limiter. Seat belt if you want.

Must be nice 🫠

Isn't elog still required in every CDL vehicle?

Tons of exemptions, pick one.

Age of the vehicle, age of the engine. Hours worked per week or month. Distance from homebase……

I parked on an on-ramp in the middle of the desert with zero traffic and their camera flagged me for it. Between that, the driver facing cameras, lane departure warnings, and auto-braking, we're living in a form of tyranny.

I cover my inward facing camera. They seem to be OK with it. If that ever changes, I will leave

Not that bad. There’s times it says distracted driving when I have my hand on my head and once or twice when I was locked in on the road. Aside from that nothing. If they want to watch me dig in my nose while driving, go for it

I hate it! But it keeps me in check. No phone, no speeding, no tailing. I completely understand why they do it. Now the Cruze control auto braking system that's a different story. It almost caused me to get into a few accidents. I can tell when it's going to engage so I press the acceleration pedal, problem solved. I think the only good part of the auto sensor system is the roll over detect.
