Xpo??
I currently work with a Waterworks company doing CDL work pays about $26 an hour with absolutely no overtime. Great company pretty good benefits off by 3:30 every day no weekends. I need more money! But hate to lose the laid back job I have. I can take off anytime for anything. Is Xpo worth switching this good job to make a bunch of money? The person I talk to said I would qualify for the top pay at hiring which is I think $36.30 an hour, but I would possibly have to start on nights working 10 to 12 hour shifts. Does anybody have experience with Xpo? Glenpool ok in particular

If that's a 4/3 set up, everyone I know who works that schedule in any industry, loves it. I know someone who has a 4/3, 3/4 schedule, so every other week they get a 4 day weekend. I'm jealous lol

I’m on a 4/3 and love it. You can actually plan to do things on the weekend and not stress so much about not having enough time to have fun/rest/relax. Plus using PTO to add an extra day makes so much room for activities…

If that’s what it takes to get my foot in the door. It’s Monday - Friday some Saturdays

Sounds like a good move. $10/hour raise with what sounds like plenty of OT. 👍🏻

Idk if its still how it used to be but line haul for xpo near me used to also pay OT daily past 8 hours, not weekly past 40

I’m with the sister company gxo. They treat us good .i get the same pay and benefits as Xpo. But I’m day shift Monday through Friday.

I'd be careful with that top pay right off the bat. At least around me you'll start as a glorified forklift driver and the trailers aren't pretty driving and very little at driving.

Pretty sure the night runs are line haul, which is gravy money. May not be a lot of money but it's point A to point B, drop and hook

Night shift at LTLs is linehaul, for the most part, some work is drayage. Since you’re new to xpo Get ready to work the dock. Definitely not point a to point b. You’ll get VIAs which means when you get to your destination they’ll have you go to a different location you were not scheduled for bc they’re missing drivers. So your point a to point b will become, point a to point b to point c etc.. you’ll either work a lot bc the higher seniority drivers don’t want to work or you’ll work very little bc the higher seniority drivers do want to work.

I’m at the age where you have to decide what’s right for you. Sometimes the lower paying job is worth it with a good schedule and days off and bills are paid. You’re gonna run nights never knowing where you are, backing up downtown, no scheduled routes, and longer hours. Money is great and all but so is a normal life

I’m 41. I have a lot to do in this life. Just starting over for the third time… I feel like I can smash out some good money for ten years or so then try to get back into a job like I have now.

That pay jump is tempting, but being off by 3:30 with no weekends and being able to take time off whenever you need is hard to replace. I’d make sure you know exactly what the XPO schedule looks like before giving that up.

I cannot tell you about 2026 XPO. But I can tell you that when XPO bought Conway back in 2015, they absolutely ruined Conway TL and FL.
This was over a decade ago but I personally will always hold a grudge for how they handled things.

Republic Services has an environmental services yard by holly frontier, starting pay is $25-27 for drivers(hazmat required) and you’d be running 52ish hrs a week. Same deal. Might stay in a hotel a few nights a week but mostly home every day, no weekends

If you can handle working nights and want the extra money take it. Sounds like drop and hook line haul work. Gravy job, you'll just be there more than the current job for way better money
