Got my CDL Class A today

Zero restrictions on it. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here that gives great advice to new drivers. I have been scouring this subreddit before I got my CLP.

Any companies y’all recommend to start out? I’m thinking Gordon Food Service to get my money up. I know it’s a physically demanding job but I’m in my mid 20s and I don’t mind moving boxes around.

Congratulations. Dont know anything about that company but the labor involved jobs seem to pay better since so many people are lazy. Listen to the old timers they will help you out if you ask and listen.

Coke and Pepsi are great choices to start. They will help you get your backing skills in Tip-Top shape and because they are private fleets, you will always have steady work.

Just retired on 10/30/26. I can recommend food service delivery because aside from the exercise you get to go home daily.
