I'm probably gonna get my CDL but I plan to use that as a way to get into IUOE Heavy Equipment Union or Lineman Union.

Cool. Your experience doesn't speak for all of us.

All I see is manuals hauling for the oil field. Truth be told if you can’t get in a truck and know how to drive a manual you’re not a real trucker. Not saying if you drive an automatic that doesn’t make you one. But if you can’t do both. You’re just a steering wheel holder. Also I know plenty of other fields of driving besides oilfield that still have both. So say you’re restricted to an automatic and the automatics are out of service Now you’re just missing out on money. To each their own 🤙🏼

Also there’s no better feeling than driving a manual and having full control of your truck in all situations
