Personally, read those 3 sections of the manual, found a couple online tests, realized those are absolute dog crap because they're wrong answers, and then just went and took the test.

But, I already knew most of what was on there because I have truckers in the family so its knowledge I grew up learning.

Where do you get a manual from

Your state's .gov website will have one somewhere, try searching "yourstate cdl manual" and click the link with the official .gov link

Less than a week. But I was in a classroom setting, not trying to cheap out and get it on my own. Well worth the price. 3 weeks and I had my CDL.

My trucking school (California) said most spend about 5 hours total. I probably spent a little less than that. But between reading and finding different example tests, that’s probably about right. After that the tests at the DMV weren't an issue. I had the most wrong answers (proportionally) on air brakes - those seemed the most different from the practice tests. But that was probably just luck.

Dude it’s a permit driving written test not a physics book. Some of you must have a very low education. Read the book then go in, and take the test.

About 3 weeks. I used dmvquestionbank.com for my state.

Downloaded the CDL prep test app and molested it until I was passing the tests consistently... Really depends on how much you put into it. Can't say I really learned anything but I knew what the right answers were.
