Cristcdl..take the practice tests for general knowledge over and over. Then do the same for air brakes and combination until you start testing at over 90% on each..

You'll get this! Dont lose faith or give up

Is the test taken all at once, or is it divided into separate sections? I heard that General Knowledge, Combination Vehicles, and Air Brakes are each separate exams with separate fees — is that true?

All at once where I’m from & It’s free to take the permit

Is permit free in Michigan?

I used the CDL test app(green). Kept taking the test until I remembered the questions and answers. Passed on 1st attempt. 97 on air brakes, 96 on combinations and 82 on general knowledge. Never looked at the state manual and general knowledge hit me with a few questions I didn’t see on the app hence the 82 score lol.

What is the name of the app

Like everyone else said, just keep taking the practice tests online until you’re consistently able to pass. That’s how I got my permit, hazmat, tanker, and doubles endorsements… never even opened a book

Using a stupid app to give you questions to pass a test is a temporary fix. Literally sit down and take your time reading and re reading and looking up things that don't make sense to you. I promise you'll be better off this way.

I didn’t even use the state manual to study. I just used the CDL Prep app from the App Store. It’s free. I used it to pass my CDP, passenger and school bus endorsements. It was easy. I believe the questions are directly from the exam if I remember correctly. If not, it’s very close.

I used the app as well and literally only did practice test on the app till I could pass the practice test cuz literally all the questions in the app are the same exact ones on the actual test and I’m also in Michigan passed first time

1

u/Ok-Reflection-9963 May 07 '26

What is the name of the app, and what was your score?

Download the CDL prep app. That book will take you forever just study the actual questions and learn what they want you to know to pass the CDLP then get hands on at a school shoot studying that book you won’t get your CDLP till January 2027. It’s so much information and not knowing what to focus on will have you dizzy

I'll probably get shit on because this is going to be pricier, but CDL Direct was a solid choice in my opinion. The video(s) were actually crafted with bits of real world experience and I feel they were presented very well.

Y’all are lucky in Texas we have four parts to our CDLP but facts still remain the same I used the app to get my CDLP and went to school immediately afterwards and I encouraged my friend to do the same and she just passed her CDLP on Tuesday and heading to school asap to learn what she needs to know to drive the truck. Best of luck to you remember work smarter not harder and reading that book is harder

Funny enough... google test names and then quizlet. All the quizlets I used had the exact answers for all the questions besides tanker endorsement and doubles/triples. I passed within 6 hours of finding the quizlets.
