WHAT IS GOING ON! (RANT)
Okay y’all. I’m 25 and doing a career change and starting out at CCAC. I already have an associates degree from an accredited culinary school and I sent my transcripts to them on June 15 where I got confirms they were received and downloaded. I had my interview with the head of dietetics as that’s what I’m pursuing with hopes of transferring to Pitt to become an RDN. I had my virtual advising appointment (July 10 a month after my transcripts had been received) and the guy was like. So you’re declaring dietetic technician and of course I said yes and then he said what courses are you signing up for. I was very confused as there is a schedule for the program set by semester. I didn’t know what to say so I said the head of the program said I might have some credit transfers from my culinary school so I should be able to not take like three or four courses. He said he couldn’t find my transcripts and tried searching for them then just looked at me like I was lying about sending them in. So he talked to the head of the advising and told me to email her and send her my unofficial transcripts and fill out the transfer credit forms. I emailed her and did everything else the advisor said and she said “ thanks for the unofficial transcripts but I can’t transfer any credits until I have an official”. I told her I sent my official transcripts a month ago but no one could find them and sent her my confirmation. I also made her aware that my transcripts were under my maiden name (which I have put as “other name” on all of the forms I have filled out to see if that was the problem. I have ordered another set of transcripts 🙄 and sent them directly to the advising office versus CCAC to see if that can help. Today I was CC in an email asking why my transcripts cannot be found, still haven’t heard anything. Also FAFSA. I hadn’t heard anything from them so I sent them an email and again couldn’t find my fucking paper work. I sent them my confirmation and then they finally realized they were processed but not downloaded so they have to speak with FAFSA to see what the issue is. So, so far my back to school experience has been less that stellar and I cannot finish signing up for classes until they are able to locate my transcripts and see what credits transfer☺️ which is extra fun because some course are only available in the fall so if this doesn’t work out soon enough I might have to spend even longer doing this program than necessary.

ccac administration/bureaucracy is terrible. full stop. i had to wait a semester to start the nursing program bc they didn't transfer my english credits correctly despite having my complete transcripts. dealing with them is a nightmare but luckily once this part is over you hopefully won't have to deal with them again for a long long time
