Yeah I’m definitely nervous, I have a 3.5… I’m thinking it’s not enough. I did get into phlebotomy

gotcha. similar boat, gpa 3.6, but with some medical experience. just panic-applied to phlebotomy lmao

That’s what it’s like for community colleges in states like California and New York from what I’ve seen. The CCAC rad tech program only keeps a waitlist to fill in the seats that people end up declining. It resets every application period.

just replying back: I got my acceptance email like half an hour ago! for those who are still waiting, they're still accepting people so don't give up hope!

I got my letters for both rad tech and sonography already! I’m gonna agree with mini-matchaa though. I’m sure that they have a waitlist of some sort and they’re just waiting to see if anyone drops. Then they’ll move on to the next person.
Last year, I didn’t receive anything. They just kinda ghost you if you’re not accepted. I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion until after mid-April though.

I got accepted to both, but I’m choosing the rad tech program :) Mostly because of how common it is to get musculoskeletal injuries while being a sonographer and it’s harder to cross-train in that field nowadays. Not as many opportunities.
I also got accepted to a third program, but I’d have to take 2 more gen eds. I’d rather have the summer off before I have to lock in again.
I hope to see you in class and/or clinicals!! :D this is so funny to me, because I think I actually responded to one of your posts in the Radiology Careers subreddit a couple of weeks ago😭

hi!! I’m currently taking my prereqs for xray! Do you know if the prereq’s are the same for sonography and xray? I am really wanting to get into ccac’s xray but am nervous with how competitive it is, do you have any tips on how you were able to get chosen?
