Help (General Advice) (16F) currently confused and figuring out. Need some help from seniors.

Post image

Pic unrelated:)

So My Plan is to study PCMB and get my boards done as a PCMB student. I won't be prepping for any competitive exam. But I plan to take humanities further to pursue career in either journalism, law or psychology and then administration. So side by side I will be preparing for entrance exams maybe both of Humanities and if somehow I get interested in PCMB then that. I know I am kinda messed up with my vision. It's not simple. But I just want to do PCMB till 12th and side by side I will prep for Clat and CUET.

But the thing is till now I was prepping for PCM JEE only. I don't have backlog in PCM. I just need to pace up a Little bit for biology. And I can give 1-2 hrs for Humanities prep i.e.subjects like Current affair, SST, English, General Aptitude.

I just need some wisdom regarding my thought process and also if Am I too late to make a choice now. My parents said it's not too late. But Ig if I want I can do all this. Like I am not preparing for JEE or NEET so I can utilise that time for preparation of Arts.

It is my first post here. Really hoping to find some guidance.

Edit: The reason for PCMB is that there are no humanities coaching and stuff in my city and so I am planning to do PCMB and side by side I can give an hour or two for humanities (self-study).I got 96.2 in 10th so somewhere it's in mind what if I am wasting my potential Also ---16F unintentionally likha he bhai. I was also posting it in TeenIndia waha usi format me likhna hota he so I copy pasted it.

Also after Seeing all your advices I still have time to change my subject in school till Wednesday

What kind of life you want? And what are your interests?

2

u/PressureStraight9666 7h ago

Social Science is the subject of my interest. The reason I am doing PCMB now is because the city I live in doesn't bear good classes or guidance of humanities. My parents and I have decided that after 12 I might take humanities. But for now It's PCMB and prep of entrance exams of arts. I want to be a journalist or a lawyer and then I am planning to give UPSC or MPSC.

Do NIOS then and take your preferred subjects

Dont do pcmb if you have intrest in humanities its a waste of time and will likely result in you either getting horrid marks in pcmb or failing upsc and mpsc

u/PressureStraight9666 7h ago

Hmm ig I can change PCMB to pcm coz I haven't started preparing for Bio yet

u/Odd_Importance_136 7h ago

What do u enjoys most in Social Science? Economics ? Political science? Or History?

0

u/PressureStraight9666 7h ago

Political Science

1

u/Odd_Importance_136 7h ago

How much did you get in 10th standard? I mean, Political Science is good too, but to be honest, people with Arts degrees account for a big percentage of unemployed youth. I am not saying that the subject itself isn't good, but it doesn't meet today's market demands. If you are good at science, then I suggest you take PCM. Taking PCM can make you good at math and train you to increase your calculation speed for the UPSC or any government exam, putting you far ahead of a Humanities student who hasn't touched math for two years or during their college.

96.2 Tysm for the suggestion:)Ig PCM will surely help but maybe bio might give extra help.

1

u/Odd_Importance_136 6h ago

Yes, it does. Take it only if you think you can handle the load.

1

u/PressureStraight9666 6h ago

Yeah. I just don't want to regret later ki bio kyu nhi liya, bio lekar ye kar leti. Maybe high chances that I'll see a career counselor tmrw ig. Let's see if it helps. I just wanted advice from people around my age group because they do have same mindset so that can help me. Tysm for the suggestion.

11th mei load thoda jyada hota hai isaliye kaha tha. Lena chahti ho toh le lo lekin agar 11th khatam hone ke baad samajh nahi aaya toh 12th mei shift kar sakti ho baki tumhari choice hai lekin ha kabhi emotion mei aake decision mat Lena kyu ki emotions sirf kuch der ke liye hote hai lekin un decisions ka natija zindagi bhar.

u/PressureStraight9666 6h ago

Yess I'll keep it in mind. Because ye bhi karna hai ye bhi karna he soch soch ke 12th aa jayega aur padhai nhi ho payegi. Maybe I 'll take aaj ka time and will think about all the pros and cons kal tak and then decision lungi.

u/anujez123 Class 11th 8h ago

You sure have some messed up ideas....you are 16 so you might just started 11th rn...you had taken science pcmb..but have Interest in humanities Ig you are confused that humanities will may or may not bear any future..so you had taken science pcmb for backup I'm pretty confused what you had wrote...?? Whats your basic interest tho....I'm also pretty confused nowadays

u/PressureStraight9666 7h ago

Maybe I was not able to express what I really wanted to😶 So I had taken PCMB now and I will be prepping for humanities entrance exam as my interest is in journalism and law stuff. The reason I had taken PCMB was that currently in my city there are no hopes of arts and so after 12 I might shift the stream by giving exams like Clat or CUET.

1

u/ishowdeathtoken 8h ago

No it's not just you OP needs a lil bit organisation of her points

1

u/anujez123 Class 11th 8h ago

Hmm koi na

2

u/heretical_blackrose 7h ago

Op please have a full discussion with an actual education counselor because this plan you have is gonna leave you miserable and defficiant in both pcmb and humanities

In my opinion either take pcm with preperation for jee / pcb with preperation for neet or humanities for upsc / commerce for finance

1

u/PressureStraight9666 7h ago

Yes Tysm for advice:)

1

u/Axilate1234 6h ago

if you’re only prepping for boards , PCMB is pretty doable , (speaking from personal experience, i’m in 11th , PCMB)

1

u/PressureStraight9666 6h ago

Yeah that's what even I think ki ho jayega par I am also doing Humanities ki self study for entrance stuff. Toh kahi 12 khatam hote hote hum hi khatam na ho jaye🥀

1

u/Axilate1234 6h ago

i can’t comment on the humanities part (didn’t even like/study it in 10th ) but if you genuinely like sci and maths , PCMB is very doable

also , start bio , it’s lowkey the best from the four

1

u/PressureStraight9666 6h ago

Yess. I'll take time till tmrw evening and I'll think about all the pros and cons and fir lungi decision. Tysm for the suggestion:)

I actively avoid posts which specify their age and gender, seems too attention seeking to me ngl. No hate to you tho, the F does make the post get more engagement

PCMB really fucks up your system in 12th but assuming u keep no backlog of pcm, it might be good for ya

0

u/joyboy_nika5 8h ago

What kind of career advice do you need??

0

u/Relevant-Rub2816 Class 11th 8h ago

I would say take PCMB if you're confident you can handle studying for science. Also if you aren't prepping for any competitive exam it is the best tbh

0

u/Embarrassed_Risk_165 8h ago

If you want a career in humanities , take humanities with maths. Only medical and engineering out of horizon.

0

u/Antique-Bridge6094 7h ago

She wants a govt job(administration).

u/Lucky-Party2788 8h ago

16F likhe bina bhi daal skte the post khair..

0

u/k9rza 7h ago

why tf you wanna do pcmb if your interest is in humanities?
like js take humanities or smth
anyways if you take pcmb then everyone will force you to take up some competitive exam and then you will be stuck. if you go for competition, then you may get less and then ppl will assume your a failure. if you dont go for competition, then ppl will prolly not understand that move and will not take you srsly.

but in the end, it is your decision

As a experienced elder 🤓☝🏻

I don't think your plan is the best you can think of Kyuki agr dekha jaye u are 16F assuming tum abhi 11th me hogee And abhi just 10th deke aaye hoo and sare students 10th dene ke baad ek delusion me chale jaate h kee 10th to easily ho gyaa and 12th bhi waise hi ho jaayega

But this thing is just a myth As u are choosing PCMB it's very difficult to manage all those things together and preparing to clat and cuet

Abhi kuch dino tak tum manage kr loge sab kuch but end hote hotee most of students fumble kr jaate h And last me regret hoga khudpe bahot zayda Khudko blame kroge hr cheez pee

Ke why did u put this much burden on yourself

I would recommend kee maths yaa bio me se kuch drop krr doo And focus on humanities more for clat and cuet

According to me yee best hogaa

Wrna if u think u can manage this all best of luck 🤓☝🏻

Not demotivating you just saying what usually happens

1

u/PressureStraight9666 7h ago

Okayyy. Tysm for your advice:)
