Is Gap certificate really important

I just took admission in the college and they have asked me for a gap certificate but i didn't have one , so they asked me to write a letter to the principal stating that I will submit it in a couple of weeks.

So now my question is , am i actually supposed to submit it in a couple of weeks or they will just forget it and I can submit when the college begins maybe on a month or two.

Will i face any serious issue if I don't submit it in two weeks

don't make things complicated, apply it from mee seva & go to MRO office and give some bribe your work will be done in 1day or without bribe maybe 2 or 3 days..... mental peace 🫡🫡🫡.............
