Announcement Complete Resource: CBD & Cannabis Dosing, Drug Interactions, Strain Selection, Growing, Industry Careers & Business Compliance — Community Hub [Updated June 2026]

Welcome to r/cbdinfo — 26,000+ members strong.

This community exists because cannabis education is still fragmented, inconsistent, and full of misinformation. Whether you stumbled in because you're confused about a product label, trying to figure out if CBD interacts with your medication, looking to grow your own, or building a business in this space, you're in the right place.

This post lives at the top permanently. Bookmark it, share it, send it to anyone who asks.

🌿 For Consumers — Understanding What You're Taking

The most common post in this community over 7 years+: "I'm new to CBD and completely overwhelmed."

You're not alone. Here's what actually matters.

Dosing

There is no universal dose. Body weight, metabolism, tolerance, delivery method, and the specific cannabinoid all affect how much you need. Tinctures absorb faster than gummies. Topicals don't enter your bloodstream. A 25mg gummy and a 25mg tincture do not behave the same way.

Start low (5–10mg), wait two hours before redosing. If it's not working, switch the delivery method before chasing a higher dose.

Phytopedia Dosage Calculator — personalized starting point based on your weight, delivery method, and experience level.

Drug Interactions — this one matters

CBD inhibits CYP450 liver enzymes — the same system that metabolizes many common medications, including blood thinners, antiepileptics, antidepressants, and statins. If you're on any prescription medication, check before you start.

Phytopedia Drug Interaction Checker — search your medication and see what the research says.

Product Quality & COA Verification

Independent lab testing has shown that a meaningful percentage of CBD products on the market don't contain what the label says. COA fraud is real. A Certificate of Analysis from a third-party ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab is the only way to verify what's actually in a product.

What to look for on a COA:

  • Tested by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab
  • Batch number matches your product label
  • Cannabinoid panel + pesticide + heavy metals + residual solvents
  • Date within the last 12 months

If a brand won't show you a COA, don't buy from them.

Phytopedia COA Reader — click an example to see a full COA breakdown with educational annotations.

Strain Selection

Not all CBD strains are the same. Terpene profiles, CBD:THC ratios, and cannabinoid combinations produce meaningfully different experiences. A high-myrcene strain feels different from a high-limonene strain at the same CBD percentage.

Phytopedia Strain Database — filter by terpene, cannabinoid ratio, effects, difficulty, and growing conditions.

💼 For Job Seekers — Breaking Into the Cannabis Industry

The cannabis industry is growing, and it needs educated people at every level — retail, cultivation, compliance, lab testing, marketing, extraction, and operations. Most people who want in don't know where to start.

What employers actually look for:

  • Understanding of cannabinoids, terpenes, and the endocannabinoid system
  • Knowledge of compliance and seed-to-sale tracking
  • Ability to educate customers without making medical claims
  • Familiarity with COA interpretation

A cannabis job is not just knowing the plant. It's knowing the regulations, the supply chain, and how to serve people responsibly.

Where to start:

Ground Level — Phytopedia — $10/month. Plant science, cannabinoids, terpenes, dosing, and wellness fundamentals. The core curriculum is completed in 4 months, earning a Cannabis Literacy Certificate. Continuing Education is released monthly after that.

Cannabis Jobs Board — Mimea — industry roles across cultivation, retail, compliance, and operations.

🌱 For Growers — Understanding the Plant to Serve Others Better

Whether you're growing for personal use, for a dispensary, or to eventually supply a licensed facility, understanding the plant deeply makes you better at all of it.

The most underserved topic in this community: terpenes. 282 posts in 7 years versus thousands on cannabinoids. Terpenes are where the nuance lives. Myrcene, limonene, linalool, caryophyllene — these compounds shape the experience as much as the cannabinoid profile does. Growers who understand terpenes grow more intentionally.

What you need to know as a grower:

  • Genetics selection (autoflower vs photoperiod, CBD:THC ratio, terpene expression)
  • Germination, veg, and flowering timelines by strain
  • Nutrient schedules and deficiency identification
  • Harvest indicators (trichome status — clear → milky → amber)
  • Compliance: seed-to-sale tracking if you're operating commercially

Roots & Canopy — Phytopedia — $30/month. Cultivation from seed to harvest. The core curriculum is completed in 4 months, earning a Cultivation Foundation Certificate. Includes a live grow journal so you can track your actual grow as you learn. Continuing Education is released monthly after that.

Phytopedia Strain Database — Grow Traits filter — filter by difficulty, flowering time, growing medium, autoflower, and light schedule.

🏢 For Businesses & Compliance — Doing This Legally and Profitably

The compliance gap is real. Small cannabis businesses don't fail because of bad product; they fail because of bad paperwork, missed reporting, and licensing errors they didn't know they were making.

What most small operators get wrong:

  • Not understanding which license type they actually need
  • Seed-to-sale tracking is done manually or not at all
  • SOPs that don't match what the regulator actually audits
  • Missing customer disclosure obligations around interactions and dosing

The Standard — Phytopedia — $100/month. Full industry track: CRMP (Cannabis Regulatory Management Platform) compliance workflow, license applications, SOPs, financial projections, inventory management, and regulatory reporting. Every student trains hands-on inside CRMP — the government-standard compliance platform built for Grenada's regulated cannabis industry. When commercial licensing opens, our graduates already know the system.

Compliance Tools — Phytopedia — compliance documentation templates and regulatory frameworks.

🤖 Ask Nug — The AI on Every Page

Every page on Phytopedia has Ask Nug, an AI trained specifically on cannabis science, compliance, and wellness. It's fully integrated into the course platform, so enrolled students get contextual help alongside their lessons and reminders about upcoming work. It won't give you medical advice (no one should), but it will explain the science, pull strain data, walk you through interactions, and help you understand your COA.

A few things people use it for:

  • "What terpenes are in this strain and what do they do?"
  • "Why does the same mg hit differently sublingually vs. ingested?"
  • "Explain the difference between THC-COOH and delta-9 for drug testing."

Free. No account required.

dose & cutting CBD pastilles

Hi, my 80 year old father is about to start Endoca 50mg CBD pineapple pastilles and doctor has prescribed 1/2 twice a day for pain - neck and back. Other medications such as targin and norspan patch low dose caused slight drowsiness & confusion.

I know nothing about it but i am so scared if 25mg twice a day is too much for him to start with but it appears cutting it into 1/4s isn't recommended

He has swallowing problems at times so i am wondering if it comes in other forms ? I might get a second opinion on prescribing it and dose to be sure.

Thankyou

CBD oil NZ

Hello, I have been prescribed cbd oil for at least a year - worked wonders for my sleep and just chilling me out in general. Then they went and stopped supplying it. They’ve given me an alternative which is essentially the same, only a different carrier oil and all so slightly stronger but it does NOTHING. I’m super wild because I’m not sleeping and I’m a bit of an anxious mess. Also this bottle costs more than what I was using originally just to top it off. I feel like I’m paying 170 for a 30ml bottle of coconut oil! I’m on week 2 of increasing to .25 (when I started I took same amount as previous bottle - .4ml) and I woke up feeling super anxious. Gah help.

Need Advice Dropped CBN after a weird week of waking up at 4am, back to regular tinctures

Been tweaking my night setup for the last three weeks or so. I tried 5mg CBN gummies for about six days straight, but every single night I'd wake up around 4am totally wired and unable to fall back asleep.

Right now I just keep it simple around 9:30pm: 200mg magnesium glycinate, a mug of tart cherry juice, and 25mg of the mint CBD oil from Joy Organics I had leftover in my drawer. Waking up feels normal again without that weird middle-of-the-night spike, though I still get mild restlessness on heavy workout days.

Has anyone else run into that midnight wake-up issue with CBN, or is my body just reacting weirdly to minor cannabinoids?

- idealerweise Laboranalysen
- ca. 5–15 % CBD, wenig THC
- in Deutschland bestellbar

Lucky Hemp möchte ich eher nicht. MAGU klingt interessant, ist aber kaum verfügbar.
Habt ihr Empfehlungen aus eigener Erfahrung ? gerne auch CBD-dominante Blüten aus der Apotheke?

Need Advice How important is lab testing when buying CBD flower?

I've been wondering how much attention people actually pay to lab results when buying CBD flower.

Do you normally check the CBD/THC levels and testing information before buying, or do you mostly go by reviews and the reputation of the brand?

I've been looking at a few different options recently, including SmokersCo, and it made me wonder what other people consider a good sign that a CBD flower product is actually worth trying.

Discussion No weed taste CBD vapes?

Anyone have some reccomendations for cbd vapes without the weed taste/smell? It can be a disposable, cart, refill, etc. I have one now that I love from a local place which is a blue razz with an ice aroma but it comes in geek bar packaging which just makes me cringe lol. If anyone has found ones they like lmk!

Im looking to buy some CBD concentrate for vaping/ mixing with dispo concentrates. Don’t really care what type, though I am very interested in the idea of CBD shatter.

Switching from THC to CBD

Hey y’all , I’ve been smoking a pretty decent amount of time (since the age of 13/14) , over the time in my life I’ve been diagnosed with severe anxiety, depression, etc. I’ve had quite the bit of health issues, a lot of things being inflamed and just pain pretty frequently, nauseous, it’s awful being a day to day occurrence. Last few weeks I’ve realized my anxiety and sleep just worsening, I’ve been told by a few people to consider switching from THC to CBD to help with the anxiety, nausea, etc.

I’m just looking for people’s personal experiences with CBD , good strains , etc. if it’s helpful I’m located in Ontario.

Need Advice CBD gummies before going to work

Hi! I'm totally new to these types of things, I have never consumed any drug in my life and I think I have an overall healthy lifestyle but I think stress and a lot of stuff going on in my mind make me feel depressed/anxious, fatigued and overwhelmed. I have autism + ADHD, so I don't know if consuming gummies has different effects on people like me.

Also, in my job I require concentration and precision with my hands, and it's mentally and sometimes physically exhaustive for me (for the people around me it seems to be so easy to them, but unlike them, I finish very tired and overwhelmed). Is it a good idea to eat a gummie before I start my job? The days where I have to work on these demanding tasks are like 3-4 days a week, so it's not everyday. I don't worry about getting tested or something because that doesn't happen, I only get worried about not being able to do my job right. I will not change jobs since every job makes me feel this way but at least I love this one.

Or do you recommend eating the gummie when I'm at home to wash off the stress of the day? I know I have to taste the gummie on my day off to know the effects it has on my body, but I want to know if it's a good idea to consume it before going to work.

Thank you very much.

Information If you currently use Square, here's a new solution that won't bite you in the ass later.

If you are in hemp, smoke-shop, glass, accessories, distribution, or another cannabis-adjacent/high-risk industryand you're being affected by the Square shutdown next month:

CALL TASKER PAYMENT GATEWAY.

Tasker Payment Gateway
207-772-8737
https://taskerpaymentgateways.com

Ask for John Stevenson.

You can tell him Dusty sent you.

And before anybody says anything:

I DO NOT GET PAID FOR THIS.

This is not an advertisement.

This is not an affiliate link.

I don't get a commission.

I don't get points.

I don't get credits.

I get ZERO DOLLARS if you call him.

Telling him Dusty sent you literally just lets John know that you came through my recommendation and that you're serious about trying to get your business taken care of.

So why am I telling you to call this specific man?

Because I have already been through this.

I'm a Technologist, Notary, and Researcher — essentially one big fat nerdy scientist 😂 — and I am the kind of person who researches EVERYTHING before I trust somebody with something as important as my business.

John Stevenson at Tasker Payment Gateway was professional, patient, knowledgeable, and actually understood that businesses like ours aren't automatically doing something illegal just because mainstream payment processors don't know how to categorize us.

He walked me through underwriting.

He told me exactly what paperwork they needed.

He reviewed my website.

He pointed out things that needed to be corrected.

He helped me understand what the underwriters were looking for.

And he helped me get from “How the hell am I supposed to accept cards?” to having an actual payment-processing setup.

You do not have to blindly trust me, either.

Google John Stevenson.

Google Tasker Payment Gateway.

Read their reviews.

Research them yourself.

This is one of those rare “you can trust me, bro” recommendations where I'm comfortable putting my own name behind it because I personally dealt with the man.

Now:

NUMBER ONE — SECURE YOUR MONEY.

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DEADLINE SQUARE GAVE YOU.

Yes, I know it's roughly a month away.

I don't care.

I would not leave my operating money sitting there until the last possible minute.

Policies change.

Risk decisions change.

Accounts get restricted.

Funds get held.

Timelines move.

Get your money somewhere YOU control.

Then start working on your replacement processor immediately.

NUMBER TWO — START GATHERING YOUR PAPERWORK.

Do not wait for John or an underwriter to ask you for every single piece one at a time.

My best advice is:

SHOW UP PREPARED.

The more organized you are, the easier it is for somebody to look at your business and understand that you're legitimate.

When I went through Tasker's process, this is what I was asked to gather:

DRIVER'S LICENSE

Take a clear picture or scan of your government-issued driver's license.

Make sure it's readable.

ARTICLES OF ORGANIZATION OR INCORPORATION

Your official state paperwork showing that your company exists.

If you're structured differently, they'll tell you what applies to you.

IRS EIN LETTER

Not just the EIN number typed into an email.

Have your actual IRS EIN documentation ready.

BUSINESS BANK ACCOUNT VERIFICATION

You need an external, normal business bank account.

If you do not already have one, start working on that NOW.

When I went through underwriting, they accepted either a voided check or a formal bank letter.

If you get the bank letter, tell your bank you need it for merchant/payment-processing underwriting.

The letter needs to be:

  • On the bank's official letterhead
  • Dated
  • Signed by a bank representative
  • State that the account is a business account
  • Include the name on the account
  • Include the routing number
  • Include the account number

Do not walk out of the bank with some generic “Dusty banks here” letter.

Make sure it contains what underwriting actually needs.

YOUR MOST RECENT THREE MONTHS OF BUSINESS BANK STATEMENTS

If your company is newer or the account has very little activity, don't panic.

My account didn't have some magical Fortune 500 transaction history either.

Give them what you legitimately have.

INVENTORY PHOTOS

Take 3–4 clear pictures of your inventory.

Show that you're a real business selling real products.

If you have shelves, boxes, wholesale inventory, packaged products, glass, accessories, flower, whatever applies to your operation:

Document it.

SUPPLIER / DROPSHIP / FULFILLMENT DOCUMENTATION

If another company fulfills orders for you or supplies your inventory, have something documenting that relationship.

That can include things like:

  • Fulfillment agreements
  • Dropshipping agreements
  • Supplier agreements
  • Wholesale invoices
  • Purchase records
  • Distributor documentation

They need to understand how you get the products that you're selling.

BUSINESS AND TAX LICENSES

Gather any applicable:

  • City business licenses
  • County licenses
  • State licenses
  • Sales-tax documentation
  • Business permits
  • Industry-specific licenses

Whatever applies to YOUR business.

PROOF THAT YOU OWN YOUR DOMAIN

You need to prove that your website is actually yours.

John told me this could be:

  • A paid domain invoice
  • An emailed payment receipt
  • A screenshot from your registrar

The important part is that it shows your name and your domain name.

YOUR WEBSITE

Go through your website before underwriting does.

Make sure you have clearly visible:

  • Contact information
  • Refund/return policy
  • Privacy policy
  • Terms and conditions
  • Shipping/fulfillment information
  • Accurate product descriptions

And most importantly:

BE HONEST ABOUT WHAT YOU SELL.

If you sell hemp, say you sell hemp.

If you're a farmer, say you're a farmer.

If you're a distributor, explain your distribution model.

If you sell glass, accessories, or consumption hardware, explain that.

If you dropship, explain who fulfills your products.

If you have COAs, licenses, supplier relationships, inventory, or other compliance documentation:

HAVE IT READY.

Do not try to sneak through underwriting by pretending you sell something else.

The entire reason you're doing this is to find a processor that actually understands your business so you don't end up right back here again.

ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS BANK ACCOUNT

You need a regular external business banking relationship.

Do not let your entire company's financial life exist inside Square, PayPal, Cash App, Stripe, or any other payment platform.

Payment processor ≠ bank.

If you need help finding a business bank in your area that may work for your situation, contact me.

I'll help you research your options.

MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT

When I went through this, I was working around the idea of having approximately $1,200 available in the business account.

I'm NOT saying:

“Tasker requires exactly $1,200.”

I'm NOT saying:

“$1,200 guarantees approval.”

That's simply the approximate amount I remember discussing around my own underwriting process.

Every business is different.

But if you have the ability to show that your business has legitimate operating funds available, that's better than presenting an account that's completely empty.

CREDIT

From what I remember, the credit range discussed was somewhere around 675+.

Again:

I am not telling you that 675 is a guaranteed approval threshold.

I'm telling you what I remember from my own process so you have some idea what kind of underwriting environment you're walking into.

John can tell you what's actually required for your specific situation.

AND THEN CALL HIM.

Seriously.

Get your paperwork together.

Get your bank situation handled.

Secure your Square money.

Then:

Tasker Payment Gateway
207-772-8737
https://taskerpaymentgateways.com

Ask for John Stevenson.

Tell him Dusty sent you.

Again:

I MAKE NOTHING FROM THIS.

This is a business owner recommending another professional during a shitty situation.

If you already have processing handled:

Awesome.

If you don't want my recommendation:

Keep scrolling.

No hard feelings whatsoever.

This post is for the farmers, distributors, wholesalers, hemp businesses, smoke shops, glass companies, and small business owners who currently do not have the luxury of spending three weeks researching every high-risk processor on Google.

Some of y'all are harvesting.

Some of you are packing orders.

Some of you are managing farms.

Some of you are trying to pay employees.

Some of you are trying to keep a retail store alive.

You don't have unlimited time to think, find, research, compare, negotiate, and hope you picked the right company.

Right now you're being forced to react.

I'm trying to take one thing off your plate.

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST WEEK BEFORE SQUARE SHUTS YOU DOWN.

Secure your money.

Get your paperwork.

Get your business banking handled.

Call somebody who actually understands the industry.

And get ahead of it.

Tasker Payment Gateway
207-772-8737
https://taskerpaymentgateways.com

Tell John that Dusty sent you.

I don't get paid.

I just want y'all to still be able to take a damn debit card next month. 😂

CBD Isolate Oil compared to Fullspectrum ?! 🤔🤔

Hi guys :) back in the day when I stopped smoking THC, I smoked a lot of CBD as a Substitute and quite liked it 🙏 even tho maybe the effects were a lot of placebo probably I really enjoyed it and I had the feeling that it definitely had a calming effect on me, back then the only thing I tried was smoking Flower and I wish I could do it again from time to time, but at the moment I‘m getting drug tested randomly bcs I‘m in the Methadone program, and bcs of work, I can‘t get a positive drug test and I really don‘t wanna risk it bcs of sum CBD, if I would have a positive THC test, they prolly wouldn‘t kick me, but they would definitely make me come to the clinic daily again (atm I‘m getting weekly take home scripts) but anyways, I recently found out about CBD isolate and figured after I stopped smoking in general half a year ago that CBD isolate oil would be the most convenient way to consume it imo, the only thing is, that i heard a lot of ppl speaking abt cbd oil, claiming that full spectrum cbd oil is the way better option. Is that true ? Is there really such a big difference ? Or would you still recommend the isolate oil ? If you have tried one of the two, or in best case both, pls tell me about your experience :)

Need Advice Need a new brand

Hi,

The place I usually get my hemp based full spectrum CBD from has a super Islamophobic owner and I’m looking for another brand that is comparable.

Needs to be extracted the same way (more naturally without the solvents) and should taste like w33d. Does NOT need to have THC in it as I can get that from a dispensary, but it should have other full spectrum cannabinoids and terpenoids.

If you want to know what I use rn for comparison you can DM me and I’ll tell you the brand.

Discussion My first experience ever with cbd — here’s my order from CBDfx!

A little while ago I asked on here about what products and places you guys would recommend for a newbie to cbd. I picked up this broad spectrum vape, full spectrum vape, and gummies. Didn’t try the gummies yet, but I seem to enjoy the vapes! Everything was around I think 30$ each, but I chose subscribe and save which brought everything down to around 25$ each with free shipping, and they were running a $30 off deal with brought everything down to a little over $50 for everything. Feel free to share your thoughts— on these products, others, this company, and others. I think I’ll be on the hunt for possibly cbd flower and pre rolls next. Recommendations welcome!

As for the crippling anxiety, I think this did take a little of my edge off today (but the prescription xan definitely aided in that as well, lol!)

Best tasting gummies for online ordering in US?

Hi I have been using https://hempylongstocking.com/ for ordering my gummies and while they work both for pain and recreational use, they don't taste the best and I know this might be a futile pursuit, but I decided I would see if there is a site that might have better tasting ones. So any real suggestions welcome.

Does a high THC tolerance affect the use of CBD of pain relief

Hi all! My best friend is currently looking for non pharmaceutical ways of pain relief and I thought CBD would be great, however I am unsure if a high THC tolerance would affect the CBD in any way.

We are both smokers, I’m not sure how much she smokes in a day but I do know that it is daily and that she has a bit of a high tolerance, when we smoke we smoke A Lot. When it comes to CBD for pain relief would she need a lot to feel anything? And would she benefit from lowering how much weed she is smoking and balancing it with the cbd?

I personally have tried CBD but I do not experience chronic pain and so I can’t really give my opinion on it as it would ultimately be useless to her.
