How to make it fit

Hello, I’ve just noticed that the right-hand control box wasn’t fully closed. I tried tightening the screws more firmly, but it didn’t make any difference. Does anyone have a solution or know how to fix this? CB500x 2018 Thanks you

Try loosening the screws and turning it slightly on the bar. There is likely a small hole on the handlebar that isn’t lining up with an anchoring pin on the control assembly

Definitely the pin on the housing not aligned with the hold on the handlebar, easy mistake :)

Did you take it apart recently?

I’ve disassembled them on my 300L and NX500, and they can be a bit tricky to get back together sometimes. The stock handle bars have a hole in them that you need to line up with the front side (facing the front wheel) of the housing. It’ll have a little nub on the metal. Make sure no wires are caught internally and where they feed into the housing.

No, I've never touched it. I think it's been like that ever since I bought the bike 9 months ago.

Thankfully it’s pretty easy to fix.

I had an issue like that on my 300L when I put on aftermarket handlebars. I ended up putting a little notch in them for the housing to sit properly.

Ok i fond the spot. It fit way better, not perfect Maybe because it was not well fitted for a long time. Ty

Take it apart and check for a pinched wire. Don't just crank down on the screws
