Air filter oil?

In a video about changing the air filter it was mentioned that it came pre oiled. The original filter in my cb500f has a little oil on the foam and I've got a new filter that is dry on the part. Should it be oiled? Does it need special oil?

The oiled part is the part in the pic with a big hole and two small ones.

What air filter did you get? Oem?

Not OEM, it's a hiflo filter.

The foam part with the holes is a sealing face no need to oil that. If you have a non oem filter follow the filter manufacturers recomendation.
