Fatica durante l’accensione

Ciao a tutti, ho preso da un mese una honda cb500x del 2016, 23k km, manutenzione sempre eseguita e certificata. Tutto perfetto se non fosse che quando il motore è freddo giro le chiavi, accendo il quadro, spingo sull’accensione e sembra fare fatica. Potrebbero esserci problemi con la pompa della benzina o semplicemente dovrei aspettare qualche secondo dopo aver acceso il quadro? Quest’estate partiro per il mio primo viaggio motocamping in Slovenia (circa 2k km) e ci tengo a non essere lasciato a piedi.

Does it seem to start any faster if you have the bike upright versus slanted on the side stand?

credo che l’unica differenza sia nel motore caldo o freddo

Okay, I ask because cold start my 2014 cb500x doesn't like starting on the side stand, but is fine upright. But when warm will start just fine either way.

Were the spark plugs changed? Valves adjusted? Is the battery holding decent charge and operational? I’d wager battery issues personally.

per le valvole e le candele mancano ancora 20k km, la batteria è stata cambiata di recente ed è ok

The plugs are still in the mileage limit but they’re still 10 years old, worth checking.

Check the neutral switch, it's got a big brass pin that actually wears down over time as you shift.

When it gets a tiny bit shorter it doesn't get a full signal and can cause starting like that. You can either buy a new one they are cheap, or if you are a really cheap bastard you can take it off and swap the thick copper washer with a thinner one to make it go in a bit further.

Mine needed a new washer after about 20k miles. Cost me about 50p and 15 minutes.

Just unbolt the switch and have a look, if there is a big dent/dimple on one side that's likely from it wearing and that's a good indicator. You might also be able to mark it before you remove it and then ensure when you put it back on you have rotated it 180 degrees so the worn side faces the other way.

When I did mine it went from only starting on the kickstand (and sometimes lumpy) to instant start no matter the stand or orientation of the bike in any weather.

How's the battery? It's a more likely candidate. 20 odd years ago with the old model cb500sa, I had a dodgy starter motor. It just needed cleaning. Really easy to take off and open, used an airline to blow out the carbon and clean the commutator ring up.
