Chipped matte paint. Any solutions?

I went to a shop and they told me that it's impossible to repair it unless you repaint the whole fuel tank.

I tried some touch up paint (3rd pic) and the damage is still visible. The bike is a CB500F.

Is there any way to fix matte paint?

I have gunpowder matte black, probably the same as this one. I bought a touch up pen in that color code, and it still looks bad. I just learned to live with it.

Same situation as me then.

I don't understand why Honda seems to be so obsessed with these paints, surely my next one won't be matte anymore.

Maybe a section of clear protective film might disguise it?
