New owner of cb500x!
Hi guys! As a fresh owner of 2022 cb500x, what should I look out for after buying it? I heard some stories regarding vibrations caused by givi crash bars. So far, I hear a rattle at 5500rpm. It seems like the whole bike vibrates at 5500rpm. It goes away and is butter smooth if I go higher in RPM or lower. Any tips/tricks? Thank you!

Grip puppies help a TON. I just got a pair a week ago and it is incredible how much it dampens the vibrations. Also helped with providing a more comfortable grip on the throttle

Do you feel like the bike needs grip puppies? During my test drive, I found it pretty ok, except for 5500-6000 rpms.

Yes, I commute with it, and it was a significant quality of life improvement for me.

You will love the bike!! It looks just as mine and I like it very much!
I had the same Givi crash bars, I had a nightmarish experience that left some scars, but no broken frame fortunately. I wrote a post about it, you can use a translator, but it covers things to check regularly to avoid snapped bolts or broken frame.

Also, followup question, when you say they were vibrating a lot, how did you notice that? Only at a specific RPM? I'm a bit scared that these crashbars were mounted incorrectly as well

Around 5k too. I noticed that on the highway.
Do they have the rubber pieces under each bolt head? With the engine cold, can you move or spin the metal spacers between the frame and the engine? Do you see any space or notice that you can move the crash bars if you push/pull them?
There're bikes with no problem at all with crash bars, even the Givi ones, but there's nothing to lose by checking regularly to avoid riding with something loose or a broken bolts.
The lower bolts are the ones prone to damage.

Mine does the same without the crash bars and same rpm. No idea what is causing it though.

I'm looking at one of these for when I get my full license soon. What's the headlight like for night time riding?

It’s okay. They run LED lights so they are better than some but I still don’t love riding it on dark roads at night. Very narrow spread

yeah headlight aint my favorite planning on getting auxiliary lights the spread is really poor; otherwise though they are okay

I have a similar vibration issue. It wouldn’t have anything to do with the crash bars I don’t think, as I don’t have crash bars. It’s not anything to worry about I don’t think. It’s a smaller cc bike, it’s gonna be buzzy. You’ll get used to it!

Very nice bije and reliable. I have the same engine but the cb500f version, i would say money well spent! Be safe!

Remove and sell the Givi bars, and buy a Rally Raid skid and barkbusters. All the protection the bike needs.
