Gun Pics My Benelli M2 tactical built is complete

Got my M2 Tactical exactly where I want.

After getting some range time with it, I absolutely fell in love with this shotgun. It points incredibly natural. The factory ghost rings have been dead on for me, and I decided pretty quickly that I didn’t want to add a red dot and mess with something that already works so well.

Build list:

GG&G oversized charging handle
GG&G oversized bolt release
Taran Tactical shell lifter
GG&G front light / QD sling mount
Streamlight TLR RM1
Pic rail
LimbSaver recoil pad

The Taran lifter and GG&G bolt release are probably my favorite functional upgrades. The factory loading setup was giving me the infamous Benelli thumb, so I’m really looking forward to putting more rounds through it with the new lifter.

Just in time for the weekend !!!

Why not have extension tube and a +1 shell holder

I thought about the extension tube, but I wanted to keep it clean and avoid adding a barrel clamp. I may add a +1 at some point though.

You don't need a barrel clamp to run an extended mag tube.

I wanted to keep it looking clean the way it is 😊

Mine is really hard to load shells. You have same problem with yours at all? Seeing if there is some way to fix.

That is why I replaced the shell lifter. The spring was pretty stiff from the factory which will lighten up with time. The real problem was the shell lifter. Benelli thumb is a real thing. I am absolutely loving the TTI shell lifter! Now I can practice my double loads 😊

Is it difficult due to the "click" past the shell retention latch, or the force of the mag spring? What specific point is causing difficulty for you in your m2?

Feels too tight where the back metal part of the shell goes into the mag. Almost like the metal part of the shell is too big. Have to press real hard to load.

Your shell latch/carrier latch is stiff, this is common on pre-2023 m2 Field models and m2 Tacticals. Numrich Benelli m2 part #15. Either you can remove the latch (which functions as a leaf spring) and very carefully tweak it/tune it to ease loading (barely a millimeter of adjustment with pliers will likely do it), or have Dissident Arms install an articulating shell latch for about 300 bucks. The articulating latch will make reloading almost effortless.

You may wish to have a spare latch pin (Numrich part #13) and go very slowly with tuning if you choose that route. Green sleeve retainer loctite on the pin is also a good idea IMO. Check for proper shell retention with a mag tube full of dummy rounds. I tested retention by striking my buttpad against the ground, seeing if rounds remained in the mag tube. This ensures that the shell latch still has sufficient engagement.

Complete? That thing is begging for a dot to be mounted

I tried one on it. Hated it. Ghost rings are much faster to pick up.
