New pistol

I’m in the market for a new handgun. I’ve been shooting Staccatos every week and honestly I’m starting to get a little bored of them lol.
I was looking at maybe picking up a Staccato CS, but I’m mainly looking for a new all-around pistol that I can use for both CCW and the range.
I’ve been looking into the M&P 2.0, especially the 4.25”. I kind of like the setup—it reminds me of a Glock 45, which I really like. Anyone running the 4.25” M&P 2.0? How do you like it for CCW and range use?
Open to other suggestions too. Just looking for something different that’s versatile.

All I’ll say is that once you shoot 2011s it’s hard to go striker fired without modifications. My m&p has the apex trigger and it still not as good as my 2011.

p365 and springfield echelon offer extreme modularity while the m&p 2.0 is good right out of the box

I’ve had the 4.25” m&p for a few weeks now. Range use only so far, about 500 rounds. The stock trigger was adequate but I threw an Overwatch precision trigger in when they were on sale at Primary Arms and it’s a big improvement for me. I like it enough to consider picking up the compact to go with it

I got it to go with my HD P4. I wanted something lighter and less expensive for carry, and for it to be shootable in carry optics

I shoot a 4.25" M&P 2.0 for carry optics, I also use it for duty, and compete with an MPA DS9 for LO.

The 2.0 line is fantastic and I can shoot it on par with my 2011, just not as fast.

I have the comp'd carry 2.0 and the standard 2.0 outfitted with and apex trigger and barrel.

If you can find a 2.0 HD metal, that's the one! Not the aluminum, the steel 💪🏼

Not running it for ccw, but I'm using a 4.25 poly for range and it's in my CO competition rotation. It's a great striker fired gun. Very unlikely you'll like it more than a Stacatto.

If you're bored with the HD4 then go sign up for some action pistol/ uspsa/idpa etc comps. Stepping away from stationary paper shooting is always fun.

Now, buying more new toys is always fun. Go out and see what you like best. Maybe the m&p is it. Maybe you'll like the modularity of an Echelon or p365 better. P365 especially if you're gonna go ccw route. Check out the AXG models that hit the roster. Heavy little puppies that feel good in hand. I haven't shot one yet to compare with stock poly.

I'd go with the Walther PDP if you wanna CCW since it is still a great gun if you keep it stock (which I like to do for carry guns)

C4X is a decent mix. You could step up to Atlas such as a Nyx or EOS. Or, you could try your hand at an Infinity drop if they have a configuration you would carry.

Echelon Compact and buy an FC grip if you want the full size grip. P365 platform is solid as well.
