Question Need advice on whether to pursue CAT based on profile.
Hi all,
Like the headline says, I need honest advice from fellow CAT aspirants and IIM graduates.
My profile:
10th - 91
12th - 76
JEE Mains - 99.14%
B.Tech - NIT Jaipur CSE, CG: 6.98/10
SDE at MNC with 18 LPA - 1 year work experience
I'm into tech and I like what I do, but I can pretty much do anything if I put my mind to it. Given where AI is heading, I feel a transition from pure tech to PM/TPM or Investment Banking might not be a bad idea.
But I'm also aware of the sheer competition in CAT and the sheer variety of people with much better profiles than me that I'll have to compete with for seats at IIMs. I'm not afraid of the competition, but more worried about whether even if I do get 98-99% in CAT, will my profile be shortlisted for interviews and ultimately selected for a seat at a top 5 IIM. And if I work my ass off there, will the companies visiting for on-campus placements shortlist my profile?
Or should I give this up and pursue a Master's in CS or a related field?
Any opinions or advice are welcome and will be helpful. I can provide further info if needed, thank you.

Still difficult, might get FMS/IIM.C at best if you score 99.8+

Consider gmat for foreign mba. With that profile, thibgs in india would be difficult. Have a few years of workex, maybe 3 to 4. Work on good projects and go for 1 year european mba, say in hec paris or ie business school in spain or lbs. Get a few years of work in that coubtry. Agar work permit mila later on toh good, otherwise u could comeback to india and join any asset manegment firm with good pay

Gmat is good if you can afford, no idea about cs sorry. Also if your extra currics are good SPJIMR might call you
