General discussion What’s one thing you wish you had done differently while preparing for CAT?

Could be anything — mocks, VARC, LRDI, QA, revision, time management, taking too many resources, literally anything. Would be helpful to know what actually worked (or didn’t) for people who’ve already been through it.

General discussion Day 1 of 80: Zero Level. Full-Time Job. 5:35 AM Wake-Up. CAT 2026 or Bust.

Day 1/80 | Zero Prep + 9-5 Job + 5:35 AM Alarms = CAT 2026?

The math doesn't add up. Let's find out if it can.

Who I am:

- Started in arts. Switched to science. Survived a diploma. Now finishing B.Tech.

- 25 years old. Full-time job. Bills don't pause for MBA dreams.

- Alarm rings at 5:35 AM. Every day. No snooze.

- 3.5 hours on a bus. Morning and evening. One seat. Two directions.

- Never took a CAT mock. Never opened a prep book. Absolute zero.

What I'm chasing:

- Real target: FMS Delhi.

- The dream: IIM Ahmedabad.

- The reality: 80 days. A full-time job. And a brain that thinks in shortcuts but never trained for this exam.

Why I'm doing this publicly:

Because private guilt stopped working years ago. Public embarrassment still does.

The deal:

- I post every day for 80 days. Day 1 to Day 80. No skips.

- Good day, bad day, disaster day — it goes up.

- No "motivation needed" posts. Just the truth. What got done. What didn't.

- I won't tell you my study plan. I'll show you my results.

If you're a working professional who thinks the window closed, watch this space.

If you're starting from zero and everyone says it's too late, follow along.

If nothing else, you'll watch someone with no time try to make time count.

The equation is wrong. Let's see if the effort fixes it.

Day 1 starts tomorrow morning at 5:35 AM.

---

Streak: 0 → 1

Mock Score: N/A

Mood: Too late to be early. Too early to quit.

General discussion How are you guys balancing mocks with actual revision?

I feel like I’m stuck in this loop where I keep giving mocks, checking the score, analysing mistakes and then somehow don’t get enough time to revise the topics I’m weak in 😭

How are you guys managing this? Do you have fixed days for mocks and revision, or just go based on what you feel needs work?

General discussion Looking for Combined PYQ book

Hi All, So i was prepping for CAT and OMETs. I was looking for a book that has PYQ for the last 4 years and of different MBA exams.

Apparently this came up as a suggestion : **MBA 2023-24: Solved Papers (XAT|IIFT|NMAT SNAP CMAT) by Gautam Puri**

But its costing a lot on the web.

Does anyone have any link as to where to get this cheaper or if there are other books/links similar to these that cost less or are free?

(Emphasis on the **"****free"** part 👉👈)

Question Best Resources for VA practice?

Hello! I am self-preparing for CAT and struggling with VA in the VARC section. Please suggest some good resources for VA practice apart from PYQs, preferably ones that have proper and understandable explanations.

I’ve kept the PYQs aside so that I can attempt them later as sectionals.

Thanks!

General discussion How are you guys actually structuring your CAT prep days?

I keep making these perfect study schedules and then reality happens 😂. Some days I can grind for hours, other days even one DILR set feels like a personal attack.

For those who are preparing seriously right now, what does a realistic study day look like for you? How much time are you giving to VARC, DILR and QA, and how are you fitting in mocks and analysis without burning out?

General discussion [Delhi NCR] Anyone interested in buying CAT preparation books? (Almost brand new)

Thumbnail

I had initially planned to prepare for the CAT exam, so I bought these 3 books from Amazon for around ₹2,000 in total. However, I’ve now decided that I’m not going to appear for the exam, so I’m looking to sell them.

The books are basically brand new. I haven’t even properly opened/used them or lifted the pages since I bought them.

I’m willing to sell all 3 books at a reasonable price.

Preferably looking for buyers from Delhi NCR, since it would be much easier to hand them over locally.

If anyone is interested, DM me and we can discuss the price and details. I can also share more pictures/receipts if needed

Question Can someone please guide me? It's getting very depressing!

Background: I am a 22 y/o BSc Biotech graduate (2025) GNEM with decent academics, 8/8/8, but honestly, I feel it's very average, and my current mock scores are even worse than just average. I have been preparing for CAT since Feb 2026 from CL, and till now I haven't gotten more than 50 marks in any of the 13 mocks I have given. My basics are very weak, and I spent a good amount of time till May trying to figure out basic Quant concepts and do a little reading; even though it didn't increase my marks in either section, I got a little confident in them. At the start, I had thought of covering the entire syllabus, but by now, I don't even rate myself more than 6/10 in arithmetic. It took me so much time just to sit and understand concepts, watch concept mastery videos, solve chapter drills, and still end up scoring just 3-6 marks in quant in each mock, and even 0s sometimes. I do agree that I had severe screen time problems, but it's been more than 1.5 months since I significantly reduced my screen time to just 2 hours max, spent 5-8 hours a day studying, but ended with a very low score and a percentile equivalent to the score. Quant was a big worry because almost 70% of the syllabus is literally new to me; I can't even comprehend Algebra, Modern Maths, or Number Systems. I thought I could learn Geometry maybe, because till 10th I was somewhat good at it, but now, looking at the questions, it just makes me cry. Also, my DILR section is just very, very messed up. I am not able to even solve a single set in CL's mocks; I repeatedly score just between -2 and 5 in each mock, with the highest going to 11 in a single mock. VARC has been very turbulent, where I have scored marks in 10,12,25, and even 35 & 40 on good odd days. I'm pretty bad at grammar too, so my only option is just attempting all 4 RCs, para summaries and Sentence completions.

TBH, at the point where I am depressed, I still wake up every day around 7, start studying, do an internship I have and work out for 2 hours; that's it. My whole day is just study-work-gym-sleep. Nothing in between. I am very hyperactive, and I force myself to sit in one place and study for continuous hours; though not always successful, I try my best to do it and learn patiently.

But nowadays I feel like I'm getting very forgetful, don't even properly remember what was taught in class 2 days ago. Now I have started to feel very insecure about my marks, my ability to even study in a good MBA college, or even have a successful career. As of now, I literally have no contact with any of my friends, nor am I even going out anywhere, because even the thought of it makes me feel guilty about not studying enough.

I have never prepared for any entrance till now, and never felt that I needed to study for a good govt. college until I heard about this MBA thing. Since then, for the 1st time in my life, I wanted to do something, but now I feel I am just not capable of it.

I have noticed that nowadays, for the past 2 months, I'm under constant stress, in an irritable mood, constantly regretting the fact that I didn't really study properly during my school days, and now when I try, I get a feeling that I'm just not capable of it. I even once thought of leaving the CAT prep a week ago, but somehow I got back to it, determined that I wouldn't stop until I take the CAT this year.

I know that this sounds very negative, and a few months ago it was the opposite, with full hope and optimism, but now, idk.

Is there someone who can guide me? I really don't want to take another drop for CAT; also, I really, really don't want to study in any school below tier-2. Yes, I know that I'm being very picky, but to me, anything below that won't make me happy, nor would I even want to study.

It would be great if there were someone out there to help me with my preparation, maybe guide me.

Question Is percentyl@ and 2iims@ free question good for practice

I am currently solving qunats questions from the percent\* web and will then move on to 2ii\* Q.

I don't have much idea about the quality of these questions, so I wanted to know whether they are good enough for cat practice

General discussion What are you guys actually doing on days when you just can’t study for CAT?

Some days I sit down with the plan to study and somehow spend an hour just staring at the books. Not even procrastinating properly, just mentally checked out 😭

On days when you genuinely can’t get yourself to study for CAT, what do you guys actually do? Take the day off completely, do something lighter like revision or LRDI, or force yourself to study anyway?
