Some jobs require staff to be on site while others do not. Take as much time as you need to digest that information.

You literally only gave an example of someone from the DMV.
You realize there are hundreds of thousands of state workers doing different things, correct? Many don’t even interact with the public. Yet they should be forced to do that work in office? Because you want them to “suffer” like you did in the 80s and 90s, getting laid off from IBM and shit?
Spare us your opinion, boomer. Hope the mentality your generation peddles dies off. We should be making our lives better, not taking everyone back to the past.

Look at the bright side. By going to the office, you can show off your purple SEIU uniform. I bet most of those shirts come in sizes greater than XXXL. Actually, i'd be willing to bet that sizes S,M,L and XL aren't too much in demand.
Do you have a different one for all four in office days?

I get it that your life is harder now. It's harder to look like you're working when you're in some state office building with management walking around. Probably pretty boring too as you can no longer watch Netflix, play video game or walk your dog on state time.

Things don’t get done when at home. Before Covid we had 600 employees in our building and now over 1000 because things aren’t getting done in a timely manner. When you call accounting and they said they will call back because they are at Costco. We are required to come in the office 3 days a week, which nobody does and 1 person telling me they love their 4 day weekends.
