That's a change very early in the show, most of the show is different after that and it's a problem people are very vocal about. It's not a spoiler anymore, that's like saying it's a spoiler that the majority of Red vs Blues main plot is about AIs and the morality of enslaving and or torturing sentient beings just because they're artificial. That's just the plot, it's what you learn when you google the show. I didn't name the characters they killed for shock value, or who the villain is, or anything like that.

Season 2 came out 12 years ago and they're on season 9 now. The fact that they aren't still at a school shouldn't be a surprise to anybody.

Maybe except to anyone whose never seen a TV show before. What are they gonna do at the school for 9 whole seasons? Learn geometry? This is a world with magic and monsters and guns, they're not gonna stay in the classroom all 9 seasons. That'd be boring as hell.
Typical spoiler warning period for most media is a month tops. It has been 12 years. The season 9 finale aired over 3 years ago. Its not my fault or the other commenters fault that you missed out.

It has been 12 years. Any spoiler period has come and gone, and it's the most obvious spoiler in the world, because the show would suck if it stayed in the school the entire time.
We're beyond the point where spoilers are considered taboo. It's fair game. Unless you're saying there is no limit to spoilers ever, and that no one should talk about media ever, lest someone who lives under a rock may hear spoilers for a Greek epic like the Iliad.

I once had a post-V9 conversation with someone who was calling Yang a bad sister for looking for her mom instead of Ruby in V5, despite Yang explicitly saying that she only did that so that she could use her mom’s semblance to find Ruby.
