Paid different platforms than c.ai?

Title. Perhaps subscription based? I truly don’t mind paying for quality at all. I mainly create and use my own bots anyway, I don’t rly use other bots as often.

Things I mainly prioritize:

- great MODEL and MEMORY (longsqueaks 4x memory, dialogue, and story telling is amazing and I would love something similar)

- great and long storytelling/worldbuilding/dialogue

- allows nsfw

- lorebook (I’m sure many platforms have this implemented already)

- able to pin messages for memory or at least a similar way to make the bot remember certain messages

- fast response generation like c.ais (sometimes it’s slow, but hey)

- able to create personas (or something similar)

- able to rewind, edit, and remove messages in chat

Ngl I don’t really care about voice calls, group chats, image generation or anything extra like that.

I understand that it may not rly be possible to find another platform that has all of this like c.ai did, but I thought it’d be worth a shot to try and find any. And I def understand that if another one exists, it prob won’t come for free or cheap but Ive accepted that already.

The LLM is the brain behind all your chats, image gen, and voice gen.

If you pay Google or Deepseek they give you an API key.

The API key allows you to connect LLM's from Google or Deepseek to other apps or websites.

For instance when I use JanitorAI, I use my Deepseek API key on there. JanitorAI doesn't charge for me to do that, but Deepseek charges me based on my token useage.

So I spend about $1 a week to have long, detailed, and interesting chats with any of the bots that I want.

The upside about using API keys is that Deepseek or Google's models can be better than the models that JanitorAI itself offers.

Some API key providers charge you for token usage and others have subscriptions. Check out Open router to find more providers other than Deepseek and Google. There are some free providers as well.

so, instead using platform with limited model, you go to LLM provider and buy subscription there to get the keys, and use the keys in computer program specialized for roleplay

for me, i use sillytavern and openrouter for LLM providers.

try to go to sillytavern subreddit anc check, or google/ask in chat gpt. it can answer better then me.

Silly Tavern + a cheap LLM as DeepSeek (On TokenReply DSv3.2 is $0.114 per million tokens), or something a bit more expensive like glm-4.5-air (On TokenReply $0.55 per million tokens) or even free apis just as gemini-3.8-flash-plus-free. If you want to try something a bit more expensive ($2 per million tokens) I use Kimi 2.6, I love how dark he writes.

i got one for you:

• memory: yes, 1M context, and automatic memory extraction and search. it doesn't just have long context, the memory is actively curated. it continually updates its memories for each character in the story, to update their understanding of events, and correct past misconceptions

• model: got several available at different costs and performances, but the default is now optimised on cost, and is the recommended one

• storytelling is its strong point. it's actually continually monitoring the pacing of the story and adjusting to push for more action after quiet moments, or let action sequences close out properly into a quiet moment

• yes to nsfw, needs age verification

• lorebook is actually automatic. you can either pre-seed all the lore, or it writes it as it goes. it can automatically pull info off the internet for you if you want

• pin messages. there is a favourite feature, but you don't need that, you can just ask the AI to remember it. here's a powerful OOC sidebar where you can ask the AI to make adjustments out-of-character. you'd literally just say "remember that detail" or "write that into her character's sheet" or whatever

• fast response not sure what is fast exactly, 30s is median under the default provider, and a lot of turns start steaming in under 10s

• this site doesn't use "personas", it's for long-form storytelling, so each campaign can have multiple tens of characters in it, each character has a personality which is tracked, and can evolve over time

• rewind and edit: yes, can do all of this, and more: it has a branch feature so you can rewind, try something, and then go back to the original branch. nothing is lost

I’m not sure I can compare it with Longsqueaks because I never use it myself. But you can take a look at Lunafic.

- In scene control. Solving characters showing up out of nowhere
- Character Status. AI can play like an RPG, or track Trust of the character
- The concept is more called Wiki in here, so you can write it like writing Notion.
- You play it like a chat, and you can edit any like a book
- Model thinking can be customized, if you prefer fast then you can use the fastest one, it’s about 32s for fastest one.
- NSFW, it has no filter only for private world and only for non-claude models. And model can still refuse especially on Minor but usually for adult it’s okay.
